We have collected 1,000 lbs. of plastic film!! Thank you to all of the students and staff who brought in their recycling. We are just working on things behind the scenes to get all of the plastic dropped off to designated drop-off locations.

We encourage you to continue recycling plastic film by collecting at home and dropping it off to a business that collects it, such as Kohl's or Whole Foods.

The NexTrex® Recycling Challenge, launched in August 2023, encourages schools and communities to recycle plastic film and contribute to Trex's eco-friendly product line. The revamped challenge simplifies participation, transitioning from a competitive model to a self-initiated goal. Any organization collecting 1,000 pounds of plastic film within 12 months earns a Trex® Outdoor Furniture™ composite bench. Trex repurposes plastic films like grocery bags and sandwich wraps into sustainable products, recycling over 400 million pounds of plastic annually.
