Food Share

Elms Food Share

In an effort to reduce food waste, in 2021, the Green Team created the Elms Food Share. During all lunches, students place unwanted, unopened food in one of the food share bins. This includes unopened milk or juice, whole fruits, and pre-packaged foods, such as fruit cups, yogurt, cheese sticks, carrots, and apple slices. Students are welcome to take from the food share bin, and the food is offered to students in our aftercare program as well. At the end of the week, any leftover food is brought to the Jackson Food Pantry and Helping Hearts Equine Rescue in Millstone, NJ by Ms. Shaina Brenner.Â
