Recycling

School-wide Recycling Program

Elms has a comprehensive recycling program that was rolled out school-wide in 2021. Each year, all students and staff are trained on the recycling guidelines from the Ocean County Department of Solid Waste. The students, staff, and custodians at Elms take recycling very seriously!

Recycle Station

Some items are just not accepted by the county, so we decided to create a recycle station for other items we knew could still get recycled. To that end, we presently collect plastics, such as ziploc bags, bubble wrap, mailers, and plastic packaging, that are brought to our local supermarket for recycling by Mrs. Sheryl Konopack.

Toner and Printer Recycling

Did you know that both Savin and HP take back their toner cartridges? Here's another way Elms is recycling! Every few months, Ms. Shaina Brenner packages and ships the used toner cartridges back to the respective companies.

Recycling Audits

Our Green Team conducts recycling audits to provide feedback to students, teachers, and staff on their recycling efforts. We want to make sure we celebrate our success and provide support where it's needed.Â
