Facilities
General Cleaning Procedures and Practices
School buildings will be properly cleaned and disinfected multiple times during the school day. Custodial staff will be present to ensure adequate cleaning supplies are available and adequately stocked during the day such as paper towels, soap, hand sanitizer, tissues, etc.
Touch point disinfecting will take place during the day which includes the extra cleaning of high touch areas such as door knobs, light switches, desks, shared spaces, etc.
Foot pulls (200) have been installed on restroom entrance and exit doors to reduce touching door handles where possible.
Water Fountains
Water fountains will not be available during this time. Numerous bottle filling stations have been and will continue to be installed District-wide to take the place of traditional water fountains. Please send a water bottle with your student, clearly labeled with their name, to be refilled as necessary during the school day.
Playgrounds
Playground equipment will be cleaned and disinfected during the school day.
HVAC Systems
HVAC Systems will have more frequent filter changes and higher efficiency filters will be used. Each building will have additional fresh air pumped into the systems at various times depending on building schedules, etc.
Entrance and Exit Doors
Doors will be labeled as entrances and exits and communication will take place with students at each building to help maintain good traffic flow and reduce crowded hallways.
Hand sanitizer will be available at all entrance and exit doors.
Visitors
At this time, visitors will have restricted access to our buildings in order to maintain a healthy environment. Should a visitor enter, signage will be provided at all entrances asking them to monitor health symptoms prior to entering. Visitors will be required to wear face coverings/masks.
Building and Facility Rental to Outside Groups
Building rentals will be restricted for non-school groups at this time. This could change during the year, but currently buildings are restricted to school use only.
