Instructional Pathways

Families can choose between two instructional pathways for the 2020-2021 school year.

Option 1

is In-Person/On-Campus traditional school in the classroom. Should the need for a temporary shutdown occur due to COVID-19, all in-person instruction could easily transition to Virtual Instruction.

  • Virtual Instruction is NOT the same as Ignite Online school.

  • Virtual Instruction is NOT the same as Distance Learning which took place in the spring semester of 2020.

Option 2

Ignite Online, a completely virtual school, is available for COVID-19 related issues (medically fragile students, at-risk students or family members, or family preference to be part of the Jackson R-2 community but in a restricted environment) that would prevent a student from participating safely in on-campus learning.

What is Virtual Instruction?

Virtual Instruction is the instruction taught online temporarily for our In-Person/On-Campus traditional students. If a temporary shutdown were to take place, traditional students would be notified of the switch to Virtual Instruction and their regular classroom teachers would teach classes online.

Note:

JR-2 Distance Learning (Spring 2020):

Distance Learning was an emergency learning cycle that your student experienced last year. The intention was to move students to a safe environment while engaging in learning activities designed to keep children engaged, maintain a relationship with the students, and limit academic slippage. At this time we do not expect to see Distance Learning included as part of our reentry plan, regardless of which learning path you choose for your student
