Bryan got a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and a specialist degree in Structures at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia at Manizales. He got his Master in Science degree in Earthquake Engineering from the Erasmus Mundus MEEES Program, and a Ph.D. degree in Understanding and Managing Extremes - Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Seismology at the University School for Advanced Studies IUSS Pavia. His studies are focused on implementation of seismic protection systems and their impact on the nonstructural seismic demand.
Bryan is currently working as a research fellow on the DesRack project on the seismic performance evaluation and development of seismic protection devices for non-structural elements of logistics and industrial plants. before he was part of the CADS project, developing innovative seismic protection solutions for non-structural elements. He has worked as research assistant in several projects such as “Study and seismic behavior of low–cost material structures such as ferrocement, using experimental, deterministic and stochastic analysis.” and as Young Researcher (Colombian Research Institute grant) in the project “Experimental behavior and stochastic analysis of dry post-tensioned masonry under simulated seismicity”. As a professional engineer, he has worked as a structural designer and assistant engineer in several projects in Colombia.
