The 18th World Conference on Earthquake Engineering will take place in Milan, Italy during the summer of 2024. Several special sessions related with nonstructural elements will be included organized by the SPONSE Association. Several members of our group will present their research at this conference.
The Fifth International Workshop on Seismic Performance of Non-Structural Elements organized by the SPONSE Association, took place on the campus of Stanford University in Palo Alto, California (USA) on December 5 to 7, 2022. The Workshop was organized jointly by the Applied Technology Council (ATC), the European Centre for Training and Research in Earthquake Engineering (EUCENTRE) and the International Association for the Seismic Performance Of Non-structural Elements (SPONSE). The workshop was hosted by the John A. Blume Earthquake Engineering Center at Stanford University. The proceedings are available as the SPONSE/ATC-161 Report.
The Romanian Association for Earthquake Engineering, with the support of Technical University of Civil Engineering of Bucharest (UTCB) and National Institute for Earth Physics (INFP), organized with commitment and motivation the Third European Conference on Earthquake Engineering and Seismology (3ECEES), in September 2022 in Bucharest, Romania.
The U.S. National Conference on Earthquake Engineering, hosted by the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI) every 4 years. This milestone conference brought together professionals from the U.S. and international earthquake community, across a broad range of disciplines: architecture, civil and structural engineering, seismology, geology, geophysics, geotechnical engineering, business, public policy, the social sciences, regional planning, emergency response, and regulation.
The 17th World Conference on Earthquake Engineering took place in Sendai, Japan during the summer of 2021. Several special sessions related with nonstructural elements were included organized by the SPONSE Association. Several members of our group presented their research at this conference.
The Australian Earthquake Engineering Society organized its National Conference on November 18 - 20 2020 at The University of Adelaide. One of the topics of the conference was the performance of non-structural parts and components. Prof. André Filiatrault was one of the keynote speakers. The Chilean Institute of the Cement and the Concrete along with HILTI organized the International Symposium on Construction, Structural Reinforcement and Earthquake Engineering on October 29th 2020. The symposium was focused on nonstructural elements. Prof. André Filiatrault was one of the speakers of the event.
The main objective of Workshop on Seismic Performance of multi-component systems in special risk Industrial Facilities (SPIF) is the illustration of the preliminary results of the SPIF project and getting Practitioners and Experienced Researchers acquainted with the Seismic behavior of industrial installations. The Workshop will take place at Eucentre Foundation in via Adolfo Ferrata 1, Pavia. WG13 and Workshop Delegates may attend events both in person or by using Zoom webinar tool.
The Fourth International Workshop on Seismic Performance of Non-Structural Elements organized by the SPONSE Association, took place in Pavia (Italy) on the 22th and 23rd May, 2019. It was a special opportunity to share experiences and to discuss about the actual state of knowledge related to the seismic performance of non-structural elements.
The IUSS NSE Research group contributed significantly to the organization of the Workshop and presented some of it research results.
