Our Science Network connects science teachers across Indiana and Armstrong counties for collaborative learning and sharing. Participants will explore the PA STEELS standards, dive into 3-dimensional teaching & learning, phenomena-based instruction, and uncover practical classroom resources. Sessions focus on sharing strategies that work, learning from facilitators and colleagues, and giving you tools you can use right away. You’ll also have dedicated time to plan with fellow science educators, fostering meaningful connections and support throughout the school year.

What is a MWEE?
Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences (MWEEs) are learner-centered experiences that focus on investigations into local environmental issues that lead to informed action and civic engagement. It is an educational approach that is being implemented across the Chesapeake Bay watershed—and beyond.
Option 1: Teachers have the option to go through training to become MWEE Ambassadors by completing MWEE 101 and six to 15 hours of instructional time with field experiences where they will learn how to conduct testing of local water and be able to investigate any issues that may be found. This allows teachers to borrow MWEE kits from the Lending Library to conduct ongoing sessions with their students.
Option 2: ARIN can arrange for your students to participate in a MWEE session with one of our partner MWEE facilitators. Schools are responsible for the costs of travel and lunches, and ARIN will cover the cost of the facility and facilitation.
