Structured Literacy Interventions Grades K-3: This training can be done in one full-day or 2 half-day sessions. In these sessions, we focus on structured literacy strategies that can be used to enhance core instruction in the areas of phonemic awareness, phonics, spelling, and reading fluency.
Structured Literacy Interventions Grades 4-6: In this training can be done as a full-day or 2 half-day sessions. In these sessions, we examine strategies for reading multisyllabic words, fluency, reading comprehension, and written expression.
Teaching Phonemic Awareness: This training requires about 4 hours to complete. In this session, participants learn the role of phonological and phonemic awareness in reading. We also examine ways to teach these skills with explicit instruction and Heggerty routines.
Decodable Text: This session requires about 2 hours to complete. In this session, we examine the types of texts found in classrooms and look at how to use decodable texts, and how to determine when students are ready to move to leveled texts.
Teaching Vocabulary Instruction: This session can be completed in 2 hours. In this session, we discuss the role of vocabulary in reading comprehension and learn evidence-based instructional practices used to teach vocabulary.
Using instructional routines to teach foundational reading skills: This is a 2-hour session where we examine the Literacy Instructional Routines to Support Foundational Skills Instruction from the Idaho State Department of Education. These instructional routines can be used in your core reading program to ensure that all students have access to high-quality explicit reading instruction.
Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS)
What is Structured Literacy Anyway?: This is a 2-hour training where we look at the research and what it tells us about how to teach literacy. There is no cost to this training.
Teaching Reading is Rocket Science: This is a 2-hour session where we learn the research teachers need to know in regard to reading instruction. We learn how the brain learns to read and examine what components are needed for reading comprehension to take place. There is no cost to this training.
Enhancing Core Reading Instruction: (ECRI): This is 3 days of training the first 2 days focus on explicit instruction routines to teach foundational reading skills. Day 3 focuses on Vocabulary and Comprehension Instructional routines. Teams requesting this need to have purchased the ECRI materials in order for us to provide this training. There is no cost once the materials have been purchased by the district.
Accessing Vocabulary through Morphology: This is a 2-3 hour session. In this session, we explore morphology, or the study of meaningful parts of words, and learn instructional strategies to help students use morphology to unlock the meaning of words. There is no cost for this training.

Acadience Reading Essential Workshop K-6: This workshop is a one-day training. It introduces users to the Acadience Reading K-6 assessment. It provides training on the foundations and research behind the assessment, how to administer and score each of the measures, the logistics of the assessment, and its use in an outcome-driven model. This training does have a cost as participants must purchase a training manual.
Acadience Reading Data Interpretation Workshop K-6: This is a one-day training. It is designed for those who have taken the essentials workshop and are ready to learn how to interpret data to inform instruction. The workshop offers advanced training on the use of Acadience Reading K-6 assessment data in an Outcomes-Driven Model, perfect for schools implementing a Response to Intervention or MTSS approach. Topics include using data to match students to resources, group students for instruction, select materials for progress monitoring, and to evaluate the effectiveness of instruction. This training does have a cost as participants must purchase a training manual.
Acadience Administration Refresh: The length of this will depend on the measures you would like to complete a refresher for. As a mentor we can come out and do a refresher training to go over and practice scoring.
Acadience Math Essential Workshop: This is a one-day training. The training on the foundations, guidelines, administration, and scoring of Acadience Math. This training does have a cost as participants must purchase a training manual.
Acadience Math Data Interpretation Workshop: This is a one-day advanced training for participants who have completed the Math Essentials Workshop. The training focuses on using Acadience math to inform instruction and improve math outcomes. This training does have a cost as participants must purchase a training manual.
Acadience Reading Diagnostic: CFOL Workshop: This is a one-day training on the administration and scoring of Acadience Diagnostic: Comprehension, Fluency, & Oral Language (CFOL)This training does have a cost as participants must purchase a training manual. The manual is currently $17.
Team Initiated Problem Solving (TIPS) training: This is a one-day training that can be broken down into smaller sections in needed for teams to complete. TIPS is a problem-solving model established within a set of meeting foundations.

What is the Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment?
Teaching Reading Comprehension to Students with Autism: This is a one-hour training where we look at evidence-based strategies that can be used to teach comprehension to students on the spectrum. There is no cost to this training.
Errorless Teaching and Mand Procedures: This is a 2-day course where we explore the teaching routines used to teach motor imitation, tact, listener response, manding, and a variety of other skills. A one-day refresher can also be done for teams who are already involved in the PATTAN Autism Initiative. There is not cost for these sessions.
