About Me

My name is Jadon Mehringer and I am from Jasper Indiana which is a small town in Southern Indiana. I am a freshman at IUPUI pursuing a career in the health care field. I have a passion for helping other people and I am super excited to continue my education and my career. I was taught that hard work and being trustworthy are the two most important traits that a person can have. My parents instilled these values in me and I carry them with me in my personal and professional life.

Growing up, I was very involved in sports. I excelled in football and track in high school as well as develop a love for working out. Physical fitness is super important for my physical health, but also for my mental health. The gym is a place I go to relieve stress and push myself. Another passion of mine is helping individuals with special needs. I started volunteering in the special education classroom in 5th grade and fell in love with helping that under served population. My involvement from there has grown to become a huge part of my life. These two passions have led me to purse a career in occupational therapy that helps individuals with disabilities.

I chose to attend IUPUI for several reasons. They offer a doctorate of OT so I would love to complete all of my schooling in the same location. The hospitals on campus are great resources for shadowing and internships. Indianapolis also offers the amenities of a large city including entertainment, networking, and research opportunities.
