Methodology
Methodology
Our aim for Donesty’s Loving Touch is to provide reliable recommendations to ensure compassionate care to clients and improve staff turnover rates. A part of the research consists of one of our team members, Tanya, reaching out to the owner of Donesty’s Loving Touch Homecare Services and conducting an in-person interview with the owner to discuss the main challenges that the home healthcare was facing. The purpose of the interview was to gain background information about the company to see how long they have been dealing with issues with staff, how much it was costing the business, and how they previously tempted to fix problems. After the interview, we decided it was best to do a public anonymous survey (primarily answers from people ages 18 to 24) to see what needs and improvements would benefit their working environment. We also received consent from the owner to conduct the survey. Our focus was to gather answers from the study and research from the IUI library database to figure out the best way Donesty's Loving Touch can improve on providing quality care and offer better support to clients.
Our methodology consisted of primary and secondary research.
Primary Research:
We chose to conduct a public anonymous survey that asked a variety of background information from participants and short response questions about personal experiences with healthcare providers, adequacy of training, and what additional support or services could improve overall client satisfaction. Our survey was designed by google forums and consisted of 10 questions with short answers, rankings, and multiple questions. The survey was public and random, but our questions geared towards healthcare providers specifically nurses and nurse aides and patients as well. Our survey distribution was about two weeks long and included basic qualitative data analysis that was used to figure out response metrics. Our goal from the survey was to use thematic analysis to find recurrent ideas in our report to narrow down solution for our findings.
Secondary Research:
At first, to structure our research we created different research subtopics to narrow down the most relevant surroundings topics like health care burnout, training and professional development, quality of job performance, and the importance of staff/patient relationships to gain a better understanding of what a thriving healthcare environment looks like and how we can find the best approach for Donesty’s Loving Touch. All of our sources from our literature reviews were credited and peer-reviewed by graduate professionals and found on EBSCO from IUI’s Library database.
