Emma Delph
PRONOUNS: She/Her
ePortfolio Experience/s:
I built a course-based ePortfolio Fall 2020 as a dual-enrolled, high school senior. The ePortfolio was integrated into an engaged learning composition course. The experience was a vital role in my continued academic success by proving to myself I was capable of collegiate level expectations. Looking back, the experience primed me for many challenges I would face during my first few years at college.
I learned how to organize, plan, and finetune a semester long project; skills I have brought with me throughout my professional development.

Transferable Skills
I worked on a semester long group project building a database management system for a hypothetical renter's company
The website was built using PHP, HTML, and CSS. While not a traditional ePortfolio, I used skills that I developed in my orginal experience that I synthesized with my new technical foundation.
I primarily worked on the backend, developing the PHP scripts that run user inputted data into SQL queries. Go ahead and try out a few queries!
Part of my W131 ePortfolio was a formal retrospective on my ePortfolio building experiences in relationship to the semester-long exploration of pollution in the ocean and waterways.
Where I am today
I am a Residential Assistant, an Undergraduate Instructor, and a Cybersecurity Intern.
My experience creating the ePortfolio enables me to bring my creativity into different aspects of my studies.
The ePortfolio gave me confidence by proving to myself that I could create an in-depth project. I brought this confidence into my other areas of study.
My thoughts on the panel discussions:
I am excited to share my voice with experts in the field! ePortfolios are an amazing way to engage students and enables us to learn through developing a project that we can carry through our professional career.
