INTER-SCHOOL SPORTS (ACAMIS AND UBAC SPORTS LEAGUES)
Various inter-school activities are organized during the academic year by the ISU Athletic Director. ISU enters boys’ and girls’ volleyball, basketball, soccer, and swimming teams in ACAMIS league tournaments as well as local UBAC fixtures - providing opportunities for ISU teams to compete against teams from other schools in Ulaanbaatar. This is especially useful for our ACAMIS teams to gain competition experience before their tournaments.
ELIGIBILITY & EXPECTATIONS FOR STUDENT TRAVEL ABROAD (ACAMIS, ISCMS, MUN, ETC)
It is important to appreciate that students participating in events abroad such as ACAMIS sports competitions and ISCMS performances are ambassadors of ISU. The safety and welfare of the entire traveling group can be put at risk by actions of even one participant not behaving according to the ISU code of conduct. Therefore, students who may be deemed to pose a risk of harm to self or others or to ISU’s reputation may not be eligible for travel to an event abroad. ISU’s decision on this matter will be made fairly and justly and it will be final.
Any student wishing to represent ISU outside of Mongolia for a school-related opportunity needs to meet the following minimum academic requirements:
DP Students - Must have a minimum of 24 points; no 2's in a class, and must be satisfying all TOK, EE, & CAS requirements at the time of flight bookings.
MYP Students - must have a minimum of 32 points, no 2's in a class; meeting requirements for all classes, and for MYP5 students (Gr10), meeting the requirements with Personal Project at the time of flight bookings.
A student can upgrade their travel eligibility from one grading period to the next by ensuring that they are able to meet the above requirements.
Further details will be shared, in writing, with all students wishing to represent ISU on a school supervised trip prior to their full commitment to the group, team & coach, or program.
