May 2024
Objective 1: The committee is noted that the Board continues to provide the community with updates on its major decisions especially when it came to the HoS search and his transition visit. Recent updates include the upcoming re-accrediation visit in the beginning of June. Trustees also took the opportunity to participate in community events, including the PYP Exhibition, the Grade 12 graduation and the upcoming Visitor Welcome Reception for the accreditation visitors. Feedback on Opportunities for Board trustees to participate in external conferences continued to be shared including at Governance Training Center opportunity on May 19.
Objective 2: Community 60th Anniversary celebratory events have been added to the 2024/2025 calendar and locations have been chosen. 60th Anniversary logo work will also begin in June 2024. Springing into 60 event has also been reworked into a PTA-sponsored parent evening with an Olympic theme, to be held at the Australian Embassy. Planning for consolidation of external linkages with the incoming HoS in the fall of 2024 has been discussed.
March 2024
Objective 1: The Board continues to provide the community with updates on its major decisions, including the 2024-25 Tuition Fees which were finalized at the ISP Association's General Meeting in February with parents in attendance. The Board also updated the parents at the General Meeting on Board activities and progress on Board goals. Trustees also took the opportunity to participate in community events, including the Primary School International Day and a Parent Coffee Morning held in March, to coincide with the transition visit of Antoine Delaitre, the incoming Head of School. Participation in external conferences will be discussed at the Committee's April meeting although some opportunities have been shared with trustees. The Board's Designated Safeguarding Lead will participate in a CIS Child Protection Deep Dive in April.
Objective 2: The 60th Anniversary Working Group is making progress on its initial plans and these were presented to the incoming Head during his visit. Budget has been drafted, and venues remain to be booked for several events to take place during the school year.
December 2023
Objective 1: The Board has continued to communicate major decisions to the community, including on the Board's appointment of the new Head of School for August 2024, as well as sharing information regarding the upcoming ISP Association General Meeting. The Committee has been actively involved in the Domain H self-study through the committee chair, who is also serving as the Domain H co-chair. While trustees' attendance at external conferences and training opportunities have been explored and identified, with this being an accreditation year, the school leaders are limiting presentations at conferences to focus on the accreditation self-study.
Objective 2: The Parent App is up and running, having been successfully tested by staff, Board trustees and school leaders. The app will be released to the parent community just after the holiday break. The 60th Anniversary Working Group has also begun to meet to explore ideas for celebrating the 60th in the 2024-25 school year.
October 2023
Objective 1: The Board has been involved in a number of community events to start the school year. Additionally the Board has taken the opportunity, through the Head of School recruitment process, to communicate more regularly to the community to share information regarding the final candidates, and to highlight to the community their importance in helping the Board to select a candidate who will be the best fit for ISP.
Objective 2: The idea of a way forward to help the Board strengthen linkages as a thought-leader in education with the French government have been recently shared with the Board. The school has met with the Regional Education Officer for Europe for the Office of Overseas Schools with the U.S. Department of State as well as both Community Liaison Officers for the US Embassy and UK Embassy in Paris. The Parent App is in its Beta version and committee members will be providing feedback on its use.
