Prior to 2019 the IB was careful to manage exam results to avoid grade inflation.
In the first year affected by covid (2020) assessments were based on predicted grades and historical adjustments - the initial historical adjustments seemed to hurt certain students so a 'best of both worlds' approach was adopted causing noticeable grade inflation.
This was continued and exaggerated in the next year (2021).
As we emerged from the covid affected era grades started to reconverge on earlier norms but in 2022 were still considerably inflated.
The 2023 results seem to show a ful return to pre-covid values.
Every year is a little different but over the past 10 years we’ve maintained an average pass rate around 12% above the worldwide figure.

ISP has an open admissions policy for the IB Diploma programme and we do not screen or select students based on previous performances. We believe all our students are entitled to aim for the benefits that come with an IB Diploma.
With one of our largest cohorts ever taking the diploma in 2023 we are pleased to reports a pass rate of 90%.
The average points score for ISP students passing the IB Diploma in 2023 was 32.7 compared to the worldwide average of 30.4.
Well over one half of our students were awarded the bilingual diploma. Worldwide this figure is less than one third.
