HOUSES 2025/2026
At ISM we run a house system that helps to build our community spirit and sense of belonging. Each student is a member of one of four communities: Baret, Earhart, Grimaldi and Shackleton.
The students are working hard to earn house points in the Primary Years: expectations are high, so they have to show exceptionally high standards of work, effort and commitment to achieve this during lessons. Out-of-class times are important too – going above and beyond what is expected through our values is also recognised and encouraged. Students also participate in school-wide activities as part of their house teams.

NEW this Year! We are pleased to announce that to celebrate and promote ISM School House spirit, the House Sports T-Shirts should be worn every Friday. Parents should purchase one of these in the student’s House Colour. They are available to order from our uniform provider Chat-Malo. If you do not know your child’s House Colour, please contact Fayanne at fayanne.harper@ismonaco.com.
Student Council
The Student Council is an elected committee whose aim is to represent the “student voice” within the Primary Years. At the beginning of the academic year, a student (from Year 2 to Year 6) is elected to represent their class, together with a substitute who stands in for the representative in case of absence.
The representatives meet each week or every two weeks to discuss how they can contribute to life in the Primary Years, and work closely with the PTA to help organise ways in which the Primary School can also contribute to the wider community.

House Summer Reading Challenge
All Primary Years Students (Kam to Year 5)
To encourage the children to keep reading over the school break we are setting them a Summer Reading Challenge, where they can gain house points for each challenge that they meet. Reading over the summer is crucial for primary school children to maintain and build upon the skills they’ve developed during the school year. When children stop reading for an extended period, they can experience the “summer slide,” a decline in reading ability and comprehension that can set them back when school resumes. Just 15–20 minutes of reading each day helps keep their minds active, improves vocabulary, and strengthens their imagination. There are some new challenges this year, please encourage your child to take part. Students will bring the challenge home from school before the end of term - Years 1-5. KAM and Transition. Year 6 will take part in the Secondary Reading Challenge ready for starting Secondary school in September!
