*We are exploring a new structure for our foreign language program for the upcoming school year and may move away from STARRS Online Academy. As a result, foreign language course offerings may be more limited, with fewer sections and a set number of available seats.
In addition, GPA requirements will be in place for enrollment in foreign language courses. Because these courses will be offered in an online format, students must demonstrate the ability to work independently, manage their time effectively, and stay on pace with coursework. These expectations are in place to help set students up for success in a more self-directed learning environment.*
STARRS Online Academy - Southwest Services Educational Cooperative
Our district is proud to offer online Spanish 1 & 2 and French 1 & 2 courses through STARRS Online Academy, a flexible and innovative educational platform designed to enhance student learning. STARRS (Supporting Teachers and Resources for Rural Schools) Online Academy provides students with access to high-quality, accredited courses that cater to diverse learning styles and schedules. These language courses not only fulfill foreign language requirements for graduation but also promote cultural awareness and communication skills in a globalized world. With engaging curriculum and experienced instructors, STARRS Online Academy allows students to explore new languages at their own pace while benefiting from the support of their teachers and peers.
Students have the option to take these language courses for either a semester or the entire year, providing flexibility to accommodate their academic plans.
