Here at New Prague Middle school, we are committed to providing students with multiple opportunities to support their understanding of mental health.
Every year, provided to us through the Duck Cup Memorial Fund, we are able to bring mental health speakers into the school to speak with our 7th and 8th graders on a variety of topics. We are also able to bring that speaker into the community for a free community event. The Duck Cup Memorial Fund is a Non-Profit Organization formed of graduates from New Prague High School Class of 2000 that was created after losing a close friend to suicide. They have expanded their work year after year and in 2019 reached over 10,000 students with their messages on mental health. If you click the icon to the left, you will be brought to the Duck Cup Memorial page where you can learn more about their mission, see upcoming events and more! You can also watch the clips below that explain more about how the Duck Cup was founded and what their mission is!
The Connect Program is a program through Scott County that allows students to work with psychologists and other mental health professionals within the school. Attached below you will find the brochure explaining what the Connect Program is and how you can obtain services. You will also find the form to fill out, if your family is interested in this opportunity. Please go to any of your NPMS Counselors and/or Social Worker with any additional questions about this awesome program!
