WHo do i talk to about making a schedule change?

Your counselor is your point of contact for making a schedule change. Since the beginning of the year is so busy, you will need to make your requested change via the electronic form further down on this page. Please review all the requirements for a schedule change.

How Do I request a Schedule Change?

During the school year, your assigned counselor is your point of contact for questions or concerns about your schedule. Since the beginning of the school year is so busy for counselors, you will need to start your request with the link below. It will be active on Tuesday, August 12.

What are the reasons I can make a change to my schedule?

Requests for schedule changes MUST include one of the following:

Need a required class
Medical or physical restriction (documentation required)
Empty class period
Add a study hall

What if I want the same class but a different teacher?

Making schedule changes based on teacher preferences is not a sustainable practice. Class sections are carefully determined, and class sizes are carefully balanced. Requests for a specific teacher will not be granted.

What are the deadlines for requesting a schedule change?

Priority deadline for changes: Thursday, August 21, 2025

Final deadline for changes: Thursday, August 28, 2025

Are there elective courses that are full?

Yes. The schedule is based on student requests made during registration the previous year. Staffing and section decisions are based on these requests. We make every effort to ensure that students get all or the majority of their elective requests or their alternate requests. For that reason, space is limited in the fall, and it may not be possible to make a schedule change for a different elective.

Are There Classes that aren't running?

There are some classes that don't run every year due to low registration numbers. If you requested one of these classes, your counselor will have tried to fill your schedule with a different course you requested or your alternate. In most cases, this information was already shared and discussed with returning students in the spring of 2024. The classes that aren't running for the 2024-2025 school year are:

What if I want to see my counselor in person?

Counselors will have drop-in office hours on Monday, August 18 from 1:00 PM -3:15 PM. Please stop in if you have a special concern that has not yet been resolved. Your counselor may reach out to you to set up an in-person visit at another time if your schedule request requires more conversation.

I am concerned about semester 2. Can I change that now?

Counselors will be prioritizing semester 1 schedule changes. Unless there is a direct impact on semester 1, semester 2 schedule change requests may not happen until after the school year begins.
