Community Grants
Lincoln Community Grants is new this year! Funds above and beyond what is necessary to fulfill the PPT budget for the school year may be delegated to Community Grants to help bring enhancements to our students and school. How are Community Grants different than Special Projects? Community Grants offer opportunities throughout the year to apply to fund enrichment activities, and the process by which the funds are approved for use occurs during the general PPT meetings. On the other hand, Special Projects funding is allocated by consensus vote during a single Special Projects meeting in December.
We are looking for everyone’s ideas – staff, students, parents and grandparents, and encourage everyone to consider an application!
Please consider the following guidelines when submitting a proposal.
General Guidelines for Community Grants:
The project should impact as many students as possible.
The project should have long-term positive implications.
The project should be completed or implemented within the current school year in which the funds were allocated.
The project should fall within the budget set aside for special projects.
The primary author for an application must be Lincoln staff, a Lincoln parent/guardian/grandparent, or a student.
The project should reflect the unique spirit of Lincoln K-8 School.
All applications will be reviewed by the PPT Leadership group, assessed for feasibility and applicability by school leadership, and put through an open discussion decision process for funding recommendation during regular PPT meetings. Applicants, or their delegate, should attend the PPT meeting to briefly describe their funding request and answer any follow up questions from the members in attendance. Meetings are open to all Lincoln parents/guardians, staff, and the student government president. The funding recommendation is presented to PPT and school leadership for final approval.
Timeline for 2023-2024 Community Grants Application
October 16, 2023: Applications will be available through the Lincoln PPT Website.
March 10, 2024: Final day to submit completed applications for the 2023-2024 school year.
