We will meet together, synchronously, on Tuesdays and Fridays from 12-12:30. Today's activities are all online, directly below:

Also, take and submit the Getting to Know You Survey via Google Classroom.
COURSE INTRODUCTION VIDEO - Just watch this short video where I'll introduce Pre-AP Curriculum, DA and Concurrent Enrollment components. It covers:
What is Pre-AP? (College Board Video)
What is Concurrent Enrollment?
Class Syllabus and Trimester 1 Overview
Please complete the "What does your name mean?" assignment on Google Classroom. You have the choice of writing or doing a video. Due by tomorrow.
Word of the Day - SYNCHRONOUS - at the same time, 'live', online together, virtually.
Let's try our second synchronous Live Google Meet, 12-12:30. I'll go through my Teacher Introduction Slideshow, then your job is to write a comment about it in Google Classroom and read the others (if you haven't already). There will be time for any questions you want to ask me. There's also been a Introduction Activity added where YOU add a slide about YOURSELF. Finish for tomorrow.
As you enter the Google Meet, have your microphones muted, and let's practice putting questions in the Chat function.
After my presentation, I'd like us to break into our Base Groups. You'll have ten minutes to introduce yourselves to each other and then come up with a fun, rad, clever, lit, cool, school-appropriate TEAM name. The first person listed in your group is the timekeeper and must remind the group to return to the full class Meet after 10 minutes, and the last person listed in your group has to email Mr. Richardson your Team name today.
Word of the Day:
ASYNCHRONOUS - not existing or happening at the same time.
Wednesdays are for asynchronous work. That just means that you can work on your own on class assignments, email teachers with questions, or request a one-on-one video meeting.
So far you should have submitted the Getting to Know You Survey, a comment on my Teacher introduction, and a "What Does Your Name Mean?" video or paragraph.
My email is drichardson@isd271.org
Flexible Learning Time. Teachers may offer office hours, assign additional synchronous meet, provide tutoring, or conduct tests.
PLEASE DOWNLOAD THIS UNIT 1 Pre-AP Student Reader. Decide if you want to print it or just use the PDF. Feel free if you want to read some of the texts early.
