Vall Salina e-Journal applies a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the scientific quality, originality, and relevance of all published contributions. All manuscripts are evaluated according to academic standards and ethical publishing practices.
The editorial and review process consists of the following stages:
Upon submission, the manuscript is reviewed by the Editorial Board to verify its alignment with the journal’s scope, its academic quality, and compliance with the author guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected at this stage.
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to at least two external reviewers with expertise in the relevant field. The identities of both authors and reviewers are kept anonymous throughout the process.
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on originality, methodological rigor, clarity of argument, use of sources, and relevance to the field of salt anthropology.
Based on the reviewers’ reports, the Editorial Board makes one of the following decisions:
Accept without changes
Accept with minor revisions
Revise and resubmit
Reject
Authors receive anonymized reports and are invited to revise their manuscript accordingly.
Revised manuscripts are assessed by the Editorial Board and, if necessary, returned to the reviewers for further evaluation. The final decision rests with the Editorial Board.
Accepted manuscripts undergo a final editorial process, including copyediting, bibliographic verification, image and figure review, and plagiarism control, before publication.
The journal is committed to ensuring a fair, transparent, and timely review process. The average review period is approximately 4–6 weeks, although this may vary depending on the availability of reviewers.
