My name is Meredith Morris, and I am delighted to be your child's first grade teacher. This is my 27th year of teaching, and my 12th year as a part of the IRCSD and Calcium Primary family. I have a variety of teaching experiences from 1st-5th grade, as well as AIS reading/Reading Recovery, but teaching 1st grade is by far my all time favorite. I have a BS from Messiah University in Pennsylvania, and a Masters of Education in Reading from the University of Kentucky. I hold 3 New York State professional teaching certifications in the areas of Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education and Reading K-6. I am a formerly trained Reading Recovery Teacher, and a former National Board Certified Teacher (Birth-Grade 2). Teaching is a passion and joy for me. I am beyond blessed to spend my days in the classroom teaching children.
I live with my husband, Justin, 3 boys (Josh 19, Caleb 11, and Noah 9), and 2 dogs, Zoey (black lab) and Bo (golden retriever), in Watertown. I love my family and often tell fun stories about them when I am teaching. In my free time, I love to scrapbook, read books, and go to the beach or pool with my boys in the summertime. A few of my favorite things are Starbucks Chai Tea lattes, Butterfingers candy, anything chocolate, and Hobby Lobby, and of course, summer vacation.
