White Eagle’s Spring Book Fair is coming! This book fair is a great way to stock up on books for Spring Break. The Spring Book Fair will be held from February 26th - March 3rd. Be looking for more information regarding hours, shopping, Wish Lists and more in the next few weeks . All purchases support the LMC! Thank you in advance for your support.
Our school-wide annual reading program sponsored by the Kane County Cougars and Six Flags Great America is almost over.
Each individual explorer (student) goal is 360 minutes or six hours of reading between January 10th and February 11th. All students who reach this goal will receive a ticket for Six Flags Great America Amusement park to be used in the summer and a ticket voucher for a Kane County Cougars’ baseball game on May 9th at 1:00 pm or May 25th at 1:00 pm (includes a drawstring bag, hot dog and soft drink).
New this year… each class will have a class goal for minutes of reading. Each week, when the reading log sheets are turned in, their class hot air balloon will move across the White Eagle world map in the LMC. The faster each team reads, the faster their class hot air balloon will move through the world. Each class that achieves its goal by Feb. 11th will have an ice cream sandwich party. So, visit a library near you, grab a book, and get ready to Read Around the World!

Friendship, smiles, thank yous, and hugs. But kindness is so much more than just being nice. This year’s theme, "I Show Kindness by..." invites you to tell us how you show kindness. Is it by helping around your home? Volunteering in your community’s green space? Maybe it’s comforting someone who’s down, or picking up trash in the park. However you define it, let us know how you bring a little bit more kindness into the world. Take your ideas and bring them to life in your doodle!
Tell Me More!
From crayons to clay, graphic design, or even food, young artists can utilize any materials to bring their creation to life. Like all Google Doodles, each doodle must incorporate the letters G-o-o-g-l-e. One national winner will receive a $30,000 college scholarship, a $50,000 technology package for their school/non-profit organization, and a behind-the-scenes experience with the Doodle team to transform their doodle into an interactive experience on Google.com. Check out previous year’s winners:
How Do I Enter ?
Download and print the entry form at doodle4google.com or ask Mrs. Vieira for an entry form.
On the entry form, have students create their doodles using any material they want, write on the form about what you have drawn and how it represents kindness to you and have parents fill out and sign the form.
Students can create the doodle on another sheet of paper, take a digital photo, or scan the doodle and tape it to the official entry form. Just be sure that the tape is clear and the doodle fits above the information on the bottom of the entry form.
Doodles need to be submitted online by clicking here by March 13th or give it to Mrs. Vieira by March 9th.

Be sure to remember to treat our new chairs with respect, one per chair, and return them to their stacking home when you're done. Thank you!
