Ready to Get Your Battle On?

Join Battle of the Bluestem!

Do you want to have some fun? Reading?? Prizes?? Get a team together and battle it out for the champion of Bluestem! If you would like to participate, get a team together and pick a name. Your team can consist of 2, 3, or 4 players. Your teammates can be any 3rd - 5th grader at White Eagle.

A good idea when choosing your teammates: They should be people you can work well with in a team atmosphere. Teammates are required to have read at least 5 of the books for your team. At least one of your teammates should have read any books that you or the other teammate have not, so your team will be able to answer questions about ALL the books. Remember the more books your team reads, the better prepared your will be!

Here is how the battle will work: You and your teammates will answer questions about the books on the list. The top team that accumulate the most points with correct answers during the White Eagle school battle will advance to the Crosstown Battle in April or May!

2024 Battle Information

Important Dates:

• Make your team poster morning on April 11th:

  • You and your teammates may come to White Eagle School on Thursday morning, April 11, 2024 at 8:15 am.  Mrs. Vieira will open the doors at 8:15 am, please do not ring the doorbell or come before that.  Mrs. Vieira will have paper for the posters.

• White Eagle Bluestem Battle on April 16, 2024 from 8:00 - 8:50 a.m.

  • Mrs. Vieira will open the doors at 7:55 am, please do not ring the doorbell or come before 7:55 am

• Crosstown Battle (other District 204 elementary schools) April 24, 2024 at Builta Elementary School 4:45 - 5:45 p.m.

  • If your team advances to the crosstown battle, you will need to have transportation and be at Builta Elementary by 4:45 and picked up promptly by 5:45.  More information to follow for the winning team.

  • The battle will start promptly at 5:00 p.m.

  • I (Mrs. Vieira) will be there to meet you and your teams.

  • Parents are welcome to attend.
