If every Brooks student read just one picture book a day for the entire month of November, we could read more than 21,000 books!
To participate, students will receive a tally sheet to record how many picture books read at home each week. Every Monday, students will fill out the Google survey found below or at THIS LINK HERE. Each child in a family should submit their numbers, even if they read the same books!
Use the tally sheet to keep track of any picture books you read at home.
Picture books students read independently are tallied on the sheet..
If families read together, each child in the family puts a tally on their own sheet.
If brothers and sisters read together, they both tally it on their own sheet.
Please do not record the picture books a teacher reads to the class. The teacher will keep track of books read in the classroom for a school-wide grade level challenge.
Any type of picture book can be read: storybook, biography, nonfiction, wordless, graphic novel. You can use books you have at home or an online resource available for you to find these books.
