What is Blast Off and Read?
It’s a school-wide reading challenge.
It builds excitement for reading.
It builds school and team unity.
It’s a month to have fun and read!
Weekly winners announced for many different reasons!
What does a Team Captain do?
Submits the roster with members and team name.
Submits weekly numbers for all team members each Monday before 10am.
Be the team’s champion. Encourage everyone to keep reading and have fun!
What do we need to do to get ready?
Students should find two to eight Tigers (staff, lunch supervisors, students in any grade) to join a team. Just ask! Don’t be afraid to ask a teacher, the office staff, even the principal to join your team!
The team picks a Team Captain.
Together the team picks a team name.
Fill out the BLAST OFF Team Roster so the Team Captain can sign up for your team.
Sign up during the week of March 20 - 24, 2023.
Start recording your minutes when April begins. Read any readable materials (books, magazines, newspapers, eBooks, audio books, anything). Just read! A time sheet will be given out before we leave for Spring Break.
Fun stuff you can do as a team... make sure you come show Mrs. Cooley what you come up with!
