Pet Sitting Terms 

Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the provision of services by Julian Bishop, operating as JB Services, and the Client ("you"). By engaging JB Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Services Provided

JB Services offers the following services:

• Pet and house sitting

• Handyman tasks

• Cleaning services

• Other agreed-upon services

Specific tasks will be confirmed during booking and outlined in a written agreement.

3. Pricing and Payment

• Pricing:

  • All prices are exclusive of GST.

  • Pet sitting: Starting from $20 per night.

  • Handyman and cleaning services: Standard hourly rates apply.

• Payment Terms:

  • Payment is due when you complete the services or as agreed in the signed agreement.

  • Bookings are not confirmed until:

    • The agreement is signed, and

    • The service fee, either in part or full, is verified using the unique code provided with the payment request.

• Cancellation Policy:

  • Cancellations within 48 hours of the scheduled start may incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the agreed service fee.

4. Calendar and Availability

• The online calendar is provided for indication purposes only.

• Availability is subject to change, and bookings will only be considered confirmed once the payment process is verified and the agreement is signed.

5. Client Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and complete information regarding property access, pet care needs, and any specific instructions related to the services.

• Ensure a safe environment for Julian Bishop and provide functional tools or equipment (if required for handyman tasks).

6. Limitations of Liability

• JB Services will take all reasonable steps to ensure the safety and security of your pets and property.

• JB Services is not liable for:

  • Natural disasters, unforeseen accidents, or damages caused by third parties.

  • Incidents involving pets with pre-existing health conditions, unless gross negligence is determined.

  • Any loss or damage caused by inaccurate or incomplete information provided by the Client.

7. Amendments and Termination

• These Terms may be updated from time to time. Clients will be notified of significant changes.

• Either party may terminate the agreement with written notice of at least 48 hours before services are due to begin.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with local regulations.

Liability Waiver

Waiver of Liability

By engaging JB Services, you ("the Client") agree to release Julian Bishop ("Service Provider") from all liability for any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from the services provided, except in cases of gross negligence.

1. You acknowledge that:

   • JB Services takes all reasonable precautions to care for your pets, property, and any tools or equipment provided for use during services.

   • Risks inherent in pet and property care, handyman tasks, and other services, including illness, accidents, and natural disasters, cannot be entirely eliminated.

2. You assume all responsibility for:

   • Providing accurate instructions regarding pets, property, and specific tasks.

   • Any loss or damage arising from factors beyond the Service Provider’s control.

Tool and Equipment Use

• If JB Services provides tools or equipment during the performance of services, the Client agrees to indemnify JB Services against:

  • Any damage to the Client’s property arising from the use of such tools or equipment unless gross negligence is determined.

  • Any incidental or consequential losses resulting from the use of JB Services’ tools or equipment, except in cases of gross negligence.

Exclusions to Waiver

This waiver does not release the Service Provider from liability for gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless JB Services and Julian Bishop from any claims or liabilities (including legal fees) resulting from:

• Your breach of these terms.

• Any loss, damage, or injury arising from the use of JB Services' tools or equipment during the provision of services, except in cases of gross negligence.

Consent and Agreement

By engaging JB Services, you confirm that:

• You have read and understood this waiver.

• You agree to its terms and voluntarily waive any claims against JB Services..
