The Junior Award Scheme for Schools (JASS) is an accredited award for young people. By providing a structured programme, JASS aims to support young people through the transition from primary school to lower secondary school. JASS has been designed to be flexible and adaptable to the interests and abilities of individuals to ensure it is achievable by all participants, whilst matching the goals of their Schools Curriculum. There is no set age range for JASS, however we have found it works best for 10 – 14 year olds. It’s an environmental award scheme for people of all backgrounds – groups, families, individuals. It’s non-competitive, inclusive and accessible.
The Learning for Sustainability Awards have been launched to recognise the commitment, professionalism and leadership that underpins this success. The Scottish Government has identified People as a key theme for the COP26 Summit and has declared that it wants it to be the most inclusive COP summit ever to be held. This includes a strong focus on young people and on engaging disadvantaged and hard-to-reach communities.
