Year 6

English

We will be usining our core text, Stella By Starlight, to write creatively using a range of techniques.

Maths

We will be covering a range of units in maths, including advanced arithmetic, as well as engaging in some exciting reasoning projects and enterprise lessons. This will allow the children to apply their understanding of maths to more complex problems.

Science

We will be learning about elecricity, what makes a good conductor, how to build an effective circuit for different purposes.


Knowledge Organiser. 

History

In History we will be learning about how to abolition of slavery led to the civil rights movement. We will be critically analysing a range of resources to draw parallels between our world then and now.

In Computing we will be using our digital skills to learn about binary and decimal code to build our own digital system.

RE

We will be continuing to build on our learning of Judaism

In PE, we will be  developing invasion skills through team games.

Design & Technology

We will be using researching North African and Islamic patterns to create our own class patchwork blanket.

Music

We will be describing, evaluating and explaining our own preferences for music based on a range of pieces, such as "Down By the Riverside".

French

French this half term we will be developing our skills to talk about familiar routines and share details of a typical day.

RSHE

In RSHE we will be recognising the link between values and behaviours, and learning how to be a positive role model.
