Maundene Weekly

“Act as if what you do makes a difference, it does!"
Dear Parents/Carers,
On Monday, Year 6 enjoyed their PE lesson which focused on developing their tennis skills. The children were learning about balance and control when using the tennis equipment and worked well independently and in teams.
Year 2 had an engaging lesson on Tuesday in English where they focused on prepositions. The children worked together to discuss the meaning of 'preposition' and gave examples of what a preposition could be. In addition to this, they even acted some of the prepositions out to convey their understanding.
On Wednesday, Year 5 had their ukulele lesson. The children were extremely excited to learn about the the different parts of a ukulele and how to play certain musical notes. In the afternoon, Year 1 enjoyed their PE lesson as they made letters using their bodies. They worked on developing their balancing, bending and stretching skills.
On Thursday, Year R enjoyed using their playdough when they were participating in 'Dough Disco'. The children focused on developing the strength in their fingers and hands by pushing, stretching and rollng the playdough. In the afternoon, Year 4 used the chromebooks during their geography lesson to compare human geography of two locations around the world - United Kingdom and Syria.
Today Year 3 had an engaging maths lessons where they focused on counting in 50s. The children used their prior learning of counting and comparing numbers to 1000 to support them with this lesson.
Thank you for all of your donations for Harvest!
We hope you have a fantastic weekend,
Miss Capes, Mrs Jackson and the Maundene Team
