Maundene Weekly

________________________

Dear Parents/Carers,

On Monday, Year 6 started their week by working closely together in pairs to support each other when editing their formal letters. Two minds are better than one! Amazing collaboration and coaching was seen within the classes by all - well done, Eagles and Ospreys! After lunch, Year 5 were busy in their PE lessons developing and refining their badminton skills further. It was good to see the improvements they are making each week through practise and determination.

On Tuesday, the hall was a hub of activity after school when we welcomed everyone in for parents evening. It was so lovely to see so many parents come in to meet teachers to discuss their child's progress and to look at the learning in their books. Thank you to the teachers for teaching all day and then meeting parents all evening - as a headteacher I really do appreciate all their time, effort and dedication to ensure our children receive the best education possible.

The morning on Wednesday commenced with our celebration assembly - well done to all our Stars of the Week! Please log on to our Twitter (X) account to see photos of the children with their certificates. Year 3 enjoyed their PE lesson where they were working on developing their teamwork and co-ordination skills. We then had our second parents evening of the week and just like on Tuesday, it was a hive of activity in school full of positive conversations about learning and progress.

On Thursday, Year R had an amazing and exciting time at Little Street in Maidstone. They enjoyed trying out all of the different areas and role playing jobs they might do in the future. Year 5 continued working on their DT projects and have been making their own Trojan vehicles! They displayed great teamwork and resilience - we look forward to seeing some of the final ones on display in school. Year 2 also worked on their DT projects and have been cutting out their moving vehicle nets - lots of concentration and patience was needed for this stage of the project.

On Friday, Jays Class shared with the school community their learning for this term in their assembly - we cannot believe how much they have covered in just one term! Well done to all for presenting confidently and speaking out clearly and loudly. We also celebrated and said a big thank you to Michelle in the kitchen for 20 years service to Maundene School and the children in our community - so many children and so many meals served throughout the years! THANK YOU for your time, commitment and dedication every day.

Wishing you all a fantastic weekend and see you all on Monday.

Key Messages

Compost Donations

Our Year R growing area needs a top up of compost ready for them to start planting and growing a range of plants and vegetables.

We would really appreciate any donations of bags of compost to add to this area to top it up - if you are able to donate any bags please can you take them round to the Year R area and let a member of staff know.

Car Park

A gentle reminder that the school car park is for staff or Blue Badge holders only at all times throughout the day. This is due to space and also health and safety reasons. The office staff will ask for proof of your blue badge if you request to use the car park and they have the right to refuse entry if you are unable to show this.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
