Treaties and exceptions

Since it was created, the European Union has signed different treaties to integrate European countries in the EU. These treaties enable countries with different political, economic and social ideas to fit in the union.

How have these treaties shaped the EU? and how have they affected the countries and its citizens?

Let's find out.

TREATY OF ROME

You have learnt about the different treaties. These treaties affect the life of European citizens - tourists, students, businesspeople - whether they belong to the EU or not.

TASK 5 (group): HOW DOES THIS AFFECT YOU?


INSTRUCTIONS:

  • In the following link you will find pictures of European topics
  • You must choose the pictures with the same letter as your group.
  • For each picture, you must find out:
    1. Which country does it belong to?
    2. In which city or region is it?
    3. Describe briefly what you see in the picture.
    4. Does it belong to a EU country? In this country, does the treaty you have worked on apply? (Rome, Maastricht or Schengen)
    5. If you lived in the place of the picture, would your life be affected by your treaty? how?

You can ask the teachers or your classmates for clues (but they won't give you the answer!!!)... you can also try at Google image search


  • Create a document for each picture to write your answers. The title of the document will be European topics_imagecode. For example: European topics_A1
