Do you teach my child every day?
Parents/Guardians oversee the completion of daily assignments. Educational facilitators (EFs) offer synchronous instruction opportunities for learners based on grade level and partner with families to develop an individualized learning plan and assignment work record (ILP/AWR).
TK-3 daily synchronous instruction opportunities
4-12 weekly synchronous instruction opportunities
Do I pick and choose what to teach?
As a public school, learners at iLEAD Hybrid Exploration address the grade-level content standards. The educational facilitator will provide guidance with curriculum options as well as the individualized learning plan and assignment work record (ILP/AWR) that will list the assignments. Learner voice and choice is encouraged as they work to address the grade-level content standards.
Do I pay for things and then get reimbursed?
No. Instructional funds are provided to support a learner's individualized learning plan and assignment work record (ILP/AWR). In collaboration with your educational facilitator (EF), you will select curriculum/classes/resources that support grade-level content standards and a learner's interest and passions. Your EF will guide you through submitting order requests using educational funds.
All purchases made with instructional funds are property of iLEAD Hybrid Exploration. When withdrawing from the program, non-consumable materials and unused materials must be returned.
Who determines the grades?
Your educational facilitator is the teacher of record and determines final grades on the individualized learning plan and assignment work record (ILP/AWR) and the report card. Each Learning Period, the learner will share the body of work with their EF and submit learning samples. Based on the body of work, and samples submitted, the EF will assign grades to a learner.
How often do we have to meet?
You will check in your educational facilitator once a week to report the progress of assignments and identify any areas of support that may be needed. A learning period meeting will occur towards the end of the learning period.
What do we have to show?
Learners will share the body of work (all the assignments on the ILP/AWR), and submit work samples to be added to the learner's digital portfolio.
