Adding a Badge to a newly created person
First you will need to access the Web Client for the HikCentral Server.
Just head to 98.186.18.233:85
(HikCentral is best configured on Windows, on macOS you will be told if something is not supported on MAC in the browser. If you encounter this you will need to use a Windows machine.)
This will take you to a page that looks like this:
Go ahead and log in with your credentials, if you do not have credentials please open a ticket with IT by filling out the request form.
Once you are logged in the page will look something like this:
This page can be customized to your preferences, this view is centered around access control for this account.
Next, click on the menu icon in the top left and select Person:
Once you are on the person page, you can now add a person.
You can either click on the department to the left
Then click on the plus in the top middle left
Or you can click on the plus in the top middle left and select the department when creating the new profile for the person.
For this example I will be just clicking the plus.
Fill out the person's information and make sure to select their department. Once you have this filled out then you can assign Access Level. Scroll down on the page and head to Access Control.
Click on Assign to select access level permissions.
If we wanted to use HikCentral for Attendance, you could input the shift schedule of the employee. This if only for Attendance and not for Door Access.
For Resident Information, this is not a feature we will utilize.
Scroll back up to the top of the page and to the person icon. You will want to select "Credential Management." You will now assign a badge to the person profile.
From here you will assign a badge to the person.
Enter the information for the Card Enrollment Station to enable it for access. (HikCentral Engineering is looking at why this does not automatically occur since it is already setup in the system. Hopefully these next steps will not be needed in the near future.)
For the enrollment station:
The device address is 192.168.1.3
The username is admin
The password is iLAVA2019!
Click Save
Now scan the badge on the USB reader or the Enrollment Station at the front guard desk at cultivation.
Then click Save.
Click Save one more time and you have saved the profile. If you are selecting this from a new profile it will be Add and not Save.
Click Add
After you click Add, you MUST see this popup.
If you do not see this popup you will need to manually apply access for a person under Access Control in the menu. See the support article on Assigning Door Access Permissions.
