An important aspect of being a faculty at an educational institute is also to take up leadership roles and contribute to the growth and development of the institute. In addition to being a part of various committees that operate on campus, I take care of the following roles.
This role involves increasing diversity of international students on campus (by streamlining international students' admissions process) and also creating international learning opportunities for students at IIIT Delhi (by forging collaborations with international universities).
At IIIT Delhi, undergraduate students are expected to complete 2 credits of Self-Growth. In this, the students are encouraged to take up extra-curricular activities of their interest to develop their competence in these and also to develop leadership skills.
The role of the faculty in-charge involves establishing the processes for enrolment and evaluation of these activities.
In this role, I interact with undergraduate ECE students and help them with course selection and also guide them when they need any advice.
We have organized a few workshops for them to develop a vision for their career and make choices in line with their personal mission statement.
