Historical Crisis Committee

Hello everyone, I'm Soham! I am currently a grade 10 student studying for IGCSE in Saint Joseph’s Institution International. I started my MUN journey as an ordinary, shy delegate in the environmental council, working my way through the ranks to be a delegate in councils such as the Security Council and Historical Joint Crisis Committee.

I am really excited for this year’s SIMUN as this is my first ever MUN as Chair! I can’t wait to serve you as your deputy chair and I am really looking forward to a fruitful debate with well-worked resolutions to be scripted. Thank you and I hope we have a fantastic SIMUN 2024!!!

Hello everyone, my name is Arshad Shiju. I am  a junior at the United World College of South East Asia Dover in Singapore and have been participating in conferences for over 4 years and have attended 18 conferences, both as delegate and as a chair. I plan to major in Computer Science and Environmental Engineering and am drawn to MUN due to my passion for international relations and social justice reform. 

I am excited to return to SIMUN this year as Head Chair for the Historical Crisis Committee and I cannot wait to see how delegates would be able to manoeuvre negotiating with other nations while also meeting their own nation’s interests and priorities to ensure global peace, diplomacy and stability. 

Hello everyone, I am a 12th grader at the International French School of Singapore. MUN started fairly slowly for me, originating from my passion in history that I got while studying for the IGCSE. Although not the best delegate at the conferences I have attended, I have learned to evolve and serve my country’s role with a theatrical passion

As a fellow chair of the Historical Crisis Committee, I am quite excited to participate in regulating the topics at hand and hope that the delegates will be wonderful in exercising the power of speech and debate. And I can’t wait for all the wonders and horrors that may unfold in a committee as unpredictable as this one.
