The project 2022-1-ES01-KA131-HED-000058850, through the mobilities of students and staff, has had a significant impact both at the individual and institutional levels. It has promoted the internationalization of our educational offerings, facilitated the development of key competencies among participants, and contributed to the continuous improvement of our educational methodologies, all in line with the principles of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE).
In terms of the results related to student mobilities, it is worth highlighting that the higher-level vocational education students who participated in internships at centers such as the Instituto de Biología Molecular João Lobo Antunes in Lisbon and Asc Oncology in Berlin saw a significant improvement in their technical skills, especially in biomedical, clinical research, and digital competencies. During her stay in Lisbon, one student worked in a biobank, processing biological samples and applying DNA extraction and quantification techniques, using advanced digital tools for data and sample management. In Berlin, another student participated in clinical trials focused on researching personalized cancer therapies, where she also used digital platforms to recreate biological environments in the lab and analyze results. These practical experiences not only increased their employability but also fostered the development of intercultural, linguistic, and digital skills, preparing them to thrive in international professional environments.
Regarding the results related to staff training mobilities, these allowed teachers to improve their professional skills, with a special emphasis on acquiring language certifications and becoming familiar with the European dual vocational training system. The stay in Finland was particularly relevant, as it allowed a teacher to learn about advanced educational methodologies, the dual vocational training system, and the system for accrediting professional competencies, facilitating the implementation of Spain’s new vocational training system in our institution.
During the staff mobility in Germany, the teacher became familiar with programs to promote science among women, which inspired us to implement similar initiatives in our center. Specifically, in the 2023-2024 academic year, we carried out an educational project financed by the Junta de Andalucía entitled “Research in Vocational Training: Developing Scientific Competence.” The teacher also became familiar with an inclusion program for immigrant students and another program specifically for gifted students, which has provided us with new perspectives on how to improve our support for diversity in the classroom and strengthen the assistance provided to these students within our institution.
During the mobility in Italy, the teacher visited educational institutions and companies that provided valuable insights into the Italian vocational training system, particularly in automotive and healthcare fields. Additionally, contacts were established with several companies, opening new opportunities for sending our automotive and healthcare students for internships in the future.
At the institutional level, the project has had a lasting impact. It has inspired other students and teachers to participate in future mobilities, fostering a spirit of internationalization within our educational community. The improvement in the teachers' language skills has, in part, enabled the implementation of a Bilingual Classroom in the 2023-2024 academic year (a project by the Junta de Andalucía financed by the European Social Fund) in the Clinical and Biomedical Laboratory vocational training program. This will allow students to improve both their technical skills and their English proficiency, a key element for their future integration into the global job market.
At the local level, the project has strengthened ties with partner companies, which value the technical, linguistic, and digital skills acquired by our students during their international internships. This has contributed to better integration of our students into the regional job market.
Finally, at the international level, the project has allowed us to establish networks of collaboration with companies and educational institutions from several countries, facilitating the exchange of best practices and ensuring the continuous improvement of our vocational training programs.
