ORIGIN OF THE ATMOSPHERE
At first, Earth had no atmosphere.
Then volcanoes released toxic gases like carbon dioxide, water vapor, and nitrogen.
Later, as the planet cooled down and oceans appeared, plants produced oxygen through photosynthesis. This created the atmosphere we have today.
Air is a mixture of gases. It has about
78% nitrogen (N2), (used by some bacteria)
21% oxygen (O2) (used for respiration)
and 1% other gases like
carbon dioxide (used for photosynthesis)
argon, ozone and water vapor.
LAYERS OF THE ATMOSPHERE - FOLDABLE-
Let´s make a foldable about the Layers of the Atmosphere:
For every layer you should include:
NAME
Kms
Pressure or temperature information
Relevant feature
Representative drawing
PROPERTIES of AIR
AIR TEMPERATURE
HUMIDITY
PRESSURE
COMPRESSIBILITY
FUNCTIONS OF THE ATMOSPHERE
GAS RESERVEs: It provides
Oxygen (for respiration)
CO2 (fro photosynthesis)
Nitrogen (essential for life, some bacteria use it)
PROTECTION . meteorite, X rays, Gamma rays, UV rays
TEMPERATURE regulation: Greenhouse effect (gases. CO2, water, methane)
+ METEOROLOGICAL PHENOMENA

Watch the video , pay attention and learn about the ATMOSPHERE!
What is the ATMOSPHERE?
Why do we need Oxygen?
What does the mitochondria obtain thaks to the Oxygen?
What is the AIR mainly made of?
Other that N and O, what other gases are in the AIR?
Name the 3 main greenhouse gases?
Write solutions proposed in the video for the Global Warming issue.
Draw the molecule of Ozone:
Which gases destroy the ozone layer and where do they come from?
What is the title of this video? Why?
What is the ATMOSPHERE?
The atmosphere is the layer of gases that surround the Earth.
Why do we need Oxygen?
We need oxygen to breath.
What does the mitochondria obtain thaks to the Oxygen?
It gets energy.
What is the AIR mainly made of?
The air is 78% Nitrogen and 21% Oxygen.
Other that N and O, what other gases are in the AIR?
Argon, Methane, Ozone, Carbon dioxide.
Name the 3 main greenhouse gases?
Water vapour, carbon dioxide and Methane.
Write solutions proposed in the video for the Global Warming issue.
Use less the car/ Go walking or by bicycle./ Plant trees and avoid deforestation./ Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
Draw the molecule of Ozone:
O-O-O
Which gases destroy the ozone layer and where do they come from?
CFC gases from refrigerators and sprays
What is the title of this video?
We are what we breathe. If you take care of the aire you take care of yourself.
Atmosphehere and Geosphere CARDS GAME - DIY the Game!
Obtained from https://deceptivelyeducational.blogspot.com/2015/10/earths-layers-atmosphere-card-game-free.html
This is a set of 1-10 playing cards plus wild cards, for us to play like Skip-Bo Junior.
Download a free 11-page PDF of the playing cards from Google Drive here.
Print on heavyweight cardstock and cut out. Print two copies of the WILD cards (on page 5). NOTE: This is a pretty ink-heavy printable; I recommend taking the PDF to a copy shop so as not to use up all your home printer's ink.
