Our aim is not to become a writer, but to be able to combine sentences to create a fairly understandable text. Therefore, here you'll find some useful tips:
- Content:
- Be clear and include all the ideas that are required.
- Think on the reader and try to make your text interesting to read.
- Presentation:
- Be neat and tidy
- Avoid crossing out (
out) - Order your ideas into clearly seen paragraphs
- Keep your margins (2,5 cm. all around)
- Vocabulary:
- Try to use a wide variety of words
- Avoid repetition (use pronouns, synonyms...)
- Use adjectives to describe nouns
- Use adverbs to describe actions
- Watch your spelling
- Grammar:
- Always write a subject for your sentences
- Remember that adjectives come before nouns in English
- Think on the appropriate tenses you need
- Fluency:
- Combine short and long sentences
- Use linking words (and, but, because, so that... )
- Use punctuation signs properly (commas, full stops, ... )
