Hello everyone!
My name is Sema Koşar. I am from Türkiye and I am a final-year English Language Teaching student. I am currently taking part in a one-year long-term ESC volunteering project.
I am passionate about teaching English and I especially enjoy using fun and interactive methods in learning and teaching. I like creating positive and engaging learning environments where students can participate actively.
I am very happy to be here and to be part of this experience.

Hello everyone!
As part of the Jornades Tècniques week at the school, the English teachers organized an Escape Room activity for the students. I had the opportunity to contribute by designing and creating the cardboard boxes used in the challenges.
During the activity, I worked alongside the English teachers, guiding students through the different tasks, helping them when needed, and taking photos to document the experience. It was exciting to see the students collaborate, solve problems, and enjoy the challenges together.
The activity was both fun and rewarding, and I really enjoyed being part of such an interactive and engaging learning experience.

Hello everyone!
I had the opportunity to prepare and deliver a presentation for a group of students visiting from Germany. The aim of the presentation was to introduce Tortosa and help them discover the city from a local perspective.
During the session, I talked about Tortosa’s culture, traditional cuisine, local festivals, history, and some of the most interesting places to visit.
As part of their visit, we also toured the local chocolate factory, Creo. There, the students learned about the chocolate production process, observed the different stages of manufacturing, and saw the machinery used to create chocolate products.
It was a great opportunity to promote cultural exchange, share knowledge about the region, and help international students feel more connected to the local community.

ESC Presentation at IES Ebre
Hello everyone!
Together with Catia, another ESC volunteer, I had the opportunity to give a presentation about the European Solidarity Corps at IES Ebre.
We shared our volunteering experiences, talked about the opportunities offered by the ESC programme, and answered students’ questions. We also tried to make the session as interactive as possible by encouraging participation and discussion throughout the presentation.
It was a great experience to connect with the students and inspire them to discover new opportunities through volunteering and international mobility.

Presenting Türkiye to Students
Hello everyone!
For one month, I had the opportunity to visit different classes and introduce students to Türkiye. I shared stories about my hometown, Diyarbakır, talked about Turkish culture, traditional food, and some of Türkiye’s most successful athletes.
To make the presentations more interactive, I finished each session with a quiz, giving students the chance to test their knowledge while having fun.
It was a wonderful experience to share my culture and answer the students’ curious questions!

Hello everyone!
From February all the way through May, we turned our weekly gatherings into a lively hub for language and connection! As the moderator, I had the pleasure of hosting regular English Speaking Club sessions for both our wonderful teachers and student representatives.
We didn't just practice English—we brought it to life with various interactive activities, fun discussions, and real-world topics. It was an incredible journey watching everyone gain confidence week by week, and I am so grateful for the amazing energy and participation everyone brought to the table!
