During my mobility activity, I improved several important skills and gained valuable knowledge.

I developed my soft skills, such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, by working with people from different cultures and collaborating on group tasks. I also improved my English language skills, especially in speaking and listening, as I used the language every day in real situations. 

Additionally, I learned how to be more independent, responsible, and adaptable, managing new challenges in a different environment. This experience helped me grow both personally and professionally.

Durante la mia attività di mobilità, ho migliorato diverse competenze importanti e acquisito conoscenze preziose. Ho sviluppato le mie competenze trasversali, come la comunicazione, il lavoro di squadra e la risoluzione dei problemi, lavorando con persone di culture diverse e collaborando a compiti di gruppo. Ho anche migliorato le mie competenze linguistiche in inglese, soprattutto nella conversazione e nell'ascolto, poiché ho utilizzato la lingua ogni giorno in situazioni reali. Inoltre, ho imparato a essere più indipendente, responsabile e flessibile, affrontando nuove sfide in un ambiente diverso. Questa esperienza mi ha aiutato a crescere sia personalmente che professionalmente.

The experience in Tenerife was outstanding. In a small group composed of people from different backgrounds and nationalities, we reflected on issues that are fundamental for our professional training, such as the potential of teamwork, knowledge of our emotions and awareness of ourselves and our goals, empathy, communication and leadership styles, conflict management. Actively involved during the meetings, through practical activities, role plays, and challenging tests, we could discover or rethink our resources and see our limits not as obstacles but as a chances of growth and improvement. We could build a great working environment and sense of sharing, where judgment was suspended and I could feel comfortable and completely at ease. We acquired interesting tools that will be and already are useful to me in my work and my life and that I would like to share with my colleagues at school as soon as possible.

The natural surroundings in which we were immersed – and which we were lucky enough to explore a little – helped to make the occasion special: the dormant volcano Teide towers over the island with its immobility, concealing a huge invisible energy, the lush banana plantations around Puerto de La Cruz lap the coastline, and the Anaga forest offers the hikers fragrant paths among a tangle of green branches. The ocean, for its part, always makes its voice heard and shows up every day dressed in different colours and shades. 

I am grateful to have been able to benefit from this opportunity.

L'esperienza vissuta a Tenerife è stata eccezionale. In un piccolo gruppo composto da persone di diversa provenienza e nazionalità abbiamo riflettuto su tematiche fondamentali per la nostra formazione professionale, quali potenzialità del lavoro di squadra, conoscenza delle proprie emozioni e consapevolezza di sé e dei propri obiettivi, empatia, stili di comunicazione e di leadership, gestione dei conflitti. Attraverso attività pratiche, role plays, prove sfidanti, noi partecipanti ci siamo messi in gioco, alla scoperta o 'riscoperta' delle nostre risorse e abbiamo potuto vedere i nostri limiti, non come ostacoli ma come occasioni di crescita e miglioramento. Siamo riusciti a costruire un bel clima di lavoro e di condivisione, molto confortevole, dove ogni giudizio era sospeso. Abbiamo acquisito strumenti interessanti che mi saranno e già mi sono utili per il lavoro e la vita e che amerei condividere al più presto con i miei colleghi.

La natura nella quale eravamo immersi - e che un poco abbiamo avuto la fortuna di esplorare - ha contribuito a rendere speciale l'occasione: il vulcano Teide, dormiente, sovrasta con la sua immobilità l'isola, celando una grandissima invisibile energia, i rigogliosi bananeti intorno a Puerto de La Cruz lambiscono le coste, la foresta Anaga offre, tra un groviglio di rami verdi, sentieri profumati ai piedi di chi ama camminare. L'oceano dal canto suo, fa sempre sentire la sua voce e si presenta ogni giorno vestito di diversi colori e sfumature. 

Sono grata di aver potuto beneficiare di questa opportunità.

The Erasmus experience on Soft Skills in Tenerife was much more than just a professional training trip: it turned out to be a profound personal growth experience. Daily interaction with people with different points of view confirmed the fundamental value of active listening, effective communication and the ability to adapt to new situations with an open mind and flexibility.

Participating in practical activities and group work was stimulating: every moment of collaboration became an opportunity to broaden my horizons, welcome new perspectives and strengthen my sense of sharing and cooperation.

This experience was even more intense and engaging thanks to the combination of interactive lessons and naturalistic visits around Tenerife, always offering us a varied and evocative background.

These were days of genuine growth, during which I enthusiastically welcomed the opportunity to become a student again, rediscovering the value of lifelong learning.

I have come back from this experience not only as a teacher with new tools and enriched skills, but also with a greater awareness to share and pass on to my students and colleagues.

L’esperienza Erasmus sulle Soft Skills a Tenerife è stata molto più di un semplice viaggio di formazione professionale: si è rivelata un’esperienza di crescita personale profonda. Il confronto quotidiano con persone con punti di vista differenti mi ha confermato il valore fondamentale dell’ascolto attivo, della comunicazione efficace e della capacità di adattarsi con apertura e flessibilità alle situazioni nuove.

Mettermi in gioco attraverso attività pratiche e lavori di gruppo è stato stimolante: ogni momento di collaborazione è diventato un’occasione per ampliare il mio sguardo, accogliere nuove prospettive e rafforzare il senso di condivisione e cooperazione.

Questa esperienza è stata ancora più intensa e coinvolgente grazie all’unione di lezioni interattive a visite naturalistiche in giro per Tenerife, offrendoci sempre uno sfondo variegato e suggestivo. 

Sono stati giorni di autentica crescita, durante i quali ho accolto con entusiasmo l’opportunità di tornare ad essere alunna, riscoprendo il valore del _life long learning_.

Sono rientrata da questa esperienza non solo come docente con strumenti nuovi e competenze arricchite, ma anche con una maggiore consapevolezza da condividere e trasmettere, pronta a donare ai miei studenti e colleghi.

The training experience in Tenerife was fantastic!

The course, full of practical exercises and group activities, allowed us to maintain a high level of attention and to create unexpected relationships with other students of different nationalities. Working on soft skills has led us to grow both personally and professionally. Nowadays, it is no longer enough to have the right knowledge to be a good teacher: you need to connect with your students and have a good range of skills that go beyond the mere transmission of knowledge. This course helped us take a leap forward in this respect, although there is still much to learn and improve.

Sharing this experience with some of our colleagues at the Institute has brought us closer together, especially professionally, allowing us to talk openly, find common ground and understand different points of view.

I believe that experiences like this should be shared by all teachers as much as possible, and for this reason, I hope to have the opportunity to report on our experience to the entire teaching staff with my colleagues.

L'esperienza di formazione a Tenerife è stata fantastica!

Il corso, ricco di esercizi pratici e attività di gruppo, ci ha permesso di mantenere l'attenzione sempre alta e di creare rapporti inaspettati con gli altri corsisti di diverse nazionalità. Lavorare sulle Soft Skills ci ha portati a crescere sia dal punto di vista personale che professionale. Oggi non è più sufficiente possedere le giuste conoscenze per essere un buon docente: bisogna entrare in relazione con gli alunni e avere un buon bagaglio di competenze che vanno oltre la mera trasmissione di saperi. Questo corso ci ha aiutati a fare un salto in avanti in questo senso, sebbene ci sia ancora molto da imparare e migliorare.

Condividere questa esperienza con alcuni colleghi dell'Istituto ci ha avvicinati soprattutto professionalmente, permettendoci di dialogare apertamente, trovando punti di contatto e potendo comprendere le diverse vedute possibili.

Credo che esperienze del genere debbano essere il più possibile affrontate da tutti i docenti e, per questa ragione, spero di avere la possibilità con i colleghi di riportare la nostra esperienza al collegio dei docenti tutto.

General English, DUBLIN

During the study week at Atlas Language School, I had the opportunity to study using a method that was different from the ones I had experienced so far. In fact, to explain a new word, we were given several meanings of the word itself, which increased if we didn’t manage to understand it.

A second aspect that I really appreciated was being encouraged to constantly talk about our daily experiences and compare them with past ones. In this way, we used several verb tenses.

A third aspect was the effort to organize classes, as much as possible, with students of different nationalities. This last element gave us the chance to share and compare different habits and ways of expressing ourselves.

Durante la settimana di studio alla Atlas Language School, ho avuto l'opportunità di studiare utilizzando un metodo diverso da quelli che avevo sperimentato finora. Infatti, per spiegare una nuova parola, ci venivano forniti diversi significati della parola stessa, che aumentavano se non riuscivamo a capirla.

Un secondo aspetto che ho apprezzato molto è stato essere incoraggiati a parlare costantemente delle nostre esperienze quotidiane e a confrontarle con quelle passate. In questo modo, abbiamo utilizzato diversi tempi verbali.

Un terzo aspetto è stato lo sforzo di organizzare lezioni, il più possibile, con studenti di diverse nazionalità. Quest'ultimo elemento ci ha dato l'opportunità di condividere e confrontare diverse abitudini e modi di esprimerci.

The week in Dublin studying English was very motivating and stimulating. The courses are very well organized and tailored to meet individual learning needs.

For example, I found understanding English word stress very helpful, as it helped me better understand different English dialogues.

The role-playing games, in which we practiced speaking by simulating various real-life situations, were also very helpful.

I also really enjoyed visiting the city (this was also a way to practice) and sharing this experience with my colleagues. Of course, a week won't be enough to learn English, but it's a great motivation to keep doing it.

La settimana a Dublino per studiare inglese è stata molto motivante e stimolante. I corsi sono organizzati molto bene e in modo da rispondere alle personali esigenze di apprendimento. 

Per esempio ho trovato molto utile la comprensione degli accenti delle parole in inglese, in quanto mi ha fatto capire meglio l'ascolto di diversi dialoghi. 

Sono molto utili anche i giochi di ruolo, in cui ci siamo allenati a parlare simulando diverse situazioni di vita quotidiana.

Per altro mi è piaciuto molto visitare la città (anche questo è stato un modo per allenarci) e condividere questa esperienza con le mie colleghe. Certo non basterà una settimana per imparare l'inglese, ma è un ottimo stimolo per continuare a farlo.

Staying in Dublin was a very pleasant experience, certainly for the opportunity to study the English language, but also for the opportunity to share this experience with other colleagues and for the opportunity to visit the beautiful European city.

During the lessons (five mornings and three afternoons) the teachers made us practice a lot to improve pronunciation. The goal was to make it easier for us to speak and, above all, understand the language: for this reason they made us practice in pairs and in groups.

Every day I was forced to speak in English and I made myself understood quite well (for example when I explained some problems about the food and the rooms of the Atlas Residence) and I can to understood a little more when someone spoke. In Dublin I realized that I didn't have the "block" I have when I have to say something in English at home!

P.S. My perplexity, however, has to do with the organization of the courses. In my opinion they made a mistake by composing a single group with the Italian Erasmus+ teachers. They put us almost all together in the same class by standardizing everyone at the level of the less competent (3 of us, 2 Sardinian colleagues and 6 Neapolitan teachers who often made chaos) unfortunately not making us work in the right way!

Il soggiorno a Dublino è stato un'esperienza molto piacevole, sicuramente per l'opportunità di studiare la lingua inglese, ma anche per la possibilità di condividere questa esperienza con altri colleghi e per l'opportunità di visitare questa bellissima città europea. Durante le lezioni (cinque mattine e tre pomeriggi) gli insegnanti ci hanno fatto esercitare molto per migliorare la pronuncia. L'obiettivo era quello di facilitare la nostra capacità di parlare e, soprattutto, di comprendere la lingua: per questo motivo ci hanno fatto esercitare in coppia e in gruppo. Ogni giorno ero costretta a parlare in inglese e mi facevo capire abbastanza bene (ad esempio quando spiegavo alcuni problemi riguardanti il cibo e le camere dell'Atlas Residence) e riuscivo a capire un po' di più quando qualcuno parlava. A Dublino mi sono resa conto che non avevo il “blocco” che ho quando devo dire qualcosa in inglese a casa! 

P.S. La mia perplessità, tuttavia, riguarda l'organizzazione dei corsi. Secondo me hanno commesso un errore nel formare un unico gruppo con gli insegnanti italiani Erasmus+. Ci hanno messi quasi tutti nella stessa classe, livellando tutti nel gruppo dei meno competenti (3 di noi, 2 colleghi sardi e 6 insegnanti napoletani che spesso creavano caos), purtroppo senza farci lavorare nel modo giusto!

Between October 5th and October 12th, my four colleagues and I had the opportunity to visit Dublin through the Erasmus Project. 

It was truly an enriching experience which allowed us to visit the city and its attractions, and to take part in an intensive English course. Our mornings were spent learning and practicing English in class, whereas the afternoons were spent in further learning activities, sometimes of our own choosing. 

What struck me the most was the school’s teaching method, which was often focused on the phonological aspects of the language and on the ludic aspects of the learning process. We were also encouraged to develop real-life tasks, such as creating a restaurant menu. 

Overall I would say it was a memorable experience which motivated me to continue my learning journey and to incorporate new techniques and methodologies in my teaching style.

Tra il 5 ed il 12 ottobre io ed altre 4 colleghe abbiamo avuto l' opportunità di partecipare al Progetto Erasmus recandoci a Dublino. È stata un' esperienza molto intensa che ci ha consentito di visitare la città e le sue bellezze ma soprattutto di fare un' immersione linguistica: la nostra mattinata era impegnata nelle lezioni di inglese ed il pomeriggio in attività di approfondimento anche a nostra scelta presso la scuola di lingua  Atlas. 

L' aspetto interessante è stato conoscere il loro metodo di insegnamento che ha puntato spesso su attività didattiche legate all' aspetto fonologico della lingua, anche in maniera ludica; oppure venivamo poste in un compito di realtà, in attività pratiche da sviluppare in coppia ( come ad esempio creare un menù per un ristorante). Esperienza interessante da più punti di vista: come arricchimento umano, come conoscenza della realtà e della cultura irlandese, come incentivo per  continuare nello studio della lingua inglese nonché come spunto per metodologie diverse di insegnamento.
