What happens in Sanlúcar de Barrameda?

31st MARCH: Oggi è stata una giornata piena di emozioni. Felicità e sorpresa! Siviglia è una città meravigliosa piena di bellezza. Felicità mi ha inondata quando ho rivisto, Aurora, la mia amica spagnola e quando ho potuto conoscere la sua famiglia.

Today was a day full of emotions. Happiness and surprise! Seville is a wonderful city, full of beauty. Happiness flooded me when I saw my Spanish friend Aurora again and when I got to know her family.

1st April: Nella giornata di martedì siamo andati al "Parque Nacional de Doñana" con il traghetto, abbiamo raggiunto una splendida isola in mezzo all'estuario del fiume Guadalquivir.

Durante una bellissima passeggiata la nostra attenzione è stata catturata da due cervi.

Dopo averli osservati da un piccolo rifugio, siamo ritornati sui nostri passi e risaliti sul traghetto, siamo tornati alla magnifica scuola a fare delle attività sportive e cooperative.

Dopo esserci ritrovati con le famiglie degli spagnoli ed esserci raccontati le nostre impressioni sulla giornata, durante il pranzo, siamo subito partiti per il "Castillo de Santiago". Siamo saliti sulla torre principale e ci siamo goduti una vista unica della città. Infine abbiamo continuato a visitare Sanlúcar con i nostri amici per il resto del pomeriggio.

On Tuesday we went to the ‘Parque Nacional de Doñana’ by ferry and reached a beautiful island in the middle of the Guadalquivir river estuary.

During a beautiful walk our attention was caught by two deer.

After observing them from a small hut, we got back to the ferry, and then to the magnificent school that is hosting us for sports and cooperative activities.

After meeting up with the Spanish families and sharing our impressions of the day while having lunch, we immediately set off for the ‘Castillo de Santiago’. We climbed the main tower and enjoyed a unique view of the city. Finally, we continued visiting Sanlúcar with our friends for the rest of the afternoon.

2ND APRIL: oggi siamo andati al parco avventura che si trova a circa un'ora di autobus da Sanlúcar de Barrameda, piccola cittadina della Spagna dove vivono i nostri amici spagnoli. Sveglia alle 7:00 di mattina, partenza alle 8:15, direzione parco avventura "Entre ramas". Appena siamo arrivati i guardiani del parco ci hanno un po’ spiegato cosa avremmo dovuto fare in lingua spagnola e ci hanno presentato cinque diversi percorsi di graduale difficoltà da fare con le imbracature tra i tanti alberi presenti nell'area. Dopo averci spiegato come utilizzare gli strumenti forniti, ci hanno lasciato provare. Abbiamo giocato per tre ore senza quasi rendercene conto. Quando siamo usciti dal parco avventura il pullman ci ha portato in un giardino dove abbiamo pranzato. A Sanlúcar ci aspettava la pioggia e la calda accoglienza delle famiglie. Mi sono divertito tantissimo tanto che sarei di nuovo pronto a rivivere questa esperienza.

Today we went to the adventure park located about one hour bus ride from San Lucar de Barrameda, a small town in Spain where our Spanish friends live. Waking up at 7:00 a.m., departure at 8:15 a.m., direction ‘Entre ramas’ adventure park. As soon as we arrived, the park attendants explained a little about what we were supposed to do in Spanish and presented us with five different routes of varying difficulty to be done with harnesses among the many trees in the area. After explaining how to use the tools provided, they let us try. We played for three hours without hardly realising it. When we left the adventure park, the bus took us to a garden where we had lunch. In Sanlúcar the rain and the warm welcome of the families awaited us. I had so much fun that I would be ready to relive this experience again. 

3rd April: La giornata di oggi è stata molto entusiasmante. Abbiamo iniziato facendo delle attività a scuola di musica e scienze in piccoli gruppi, facendo esperimenti particolari e interessanti.

Dopo un pomeriggio trascorso alla scoperta delle vie di Sanlúcar e poi in compagnia delle 'nostre' nuove famiglie, la sera siamo stati a una festa a scuola dove ci siamo divertiti, abbiamo ballato, cantato e pianto sia per le risate che per la tristezza di vivere l’ultima esperienza tutti insieme.

L' Erasmus in Spagna mi ha entusiasmata e mi ha aiutato molto in alcuni aspetti: la crescita, la responsabilità e a migliorare l’inglese e lo spagnolo.

Ho fatto molte amicizie e ho visitato molti luoghi nuovi; è sicuramente un'esperienza che rifarei.

Today was very exciting. We started attending Science and Music classes at school and doing activities in small groups, that were special and interesting experiments.

After an afternoon spent discovering the streets of Sanlúcar and then with ‘our’ new families, in the evening we went back to school for a party. We had fun, danced, sang and cried from both happiness and sadness, conscious that our time together was running out. 

This Erasmus experience in Spain excited me and helped me a lot in some aspects: growing up, feeling responsibility and improving my English and Spanish. I made many friends and visited many new places; it is definitely an experience I would do again.

4th April: Questi ultimi due giorni sono stati molto belli. Ieri sera alla festa ci siamo divertiti molto, cantavamo a squarciagola tutti insieme, abbracciati, mentre facevamo video ricordo. 

Questa mattina prima di partire siamo passati a scuola. Il prof di musica Antonio ha preparato un video con le foto di tutte le attività che abbiamo fatto insieme da quando ci conosciamo. Mentre lo guardavo mi sono commossa molto; una volta usciti in cortile siamo scoppiati a piangere. Ci siamo abbracciati tutti. Ho pianto molto quando dovevamo salire sull'autobus e io non volevo lasciare nessuno di loro, specialmente la mia amica Aurora, che mi ha ospitata nella sua famiglia in questa settimana, facendomene sentire pienamente parte. Ho pianto molto anche sull'autobus perché mi dispiaceva non rivedere più persone con cui avevo stretto un forte legame. Mi ha calmata il pensiero che potremo vederci ancora, organizzandoci con le nostre famiglie. 

È stata un'esperienza unica che rifarei mille volte .

These last two days have been very nice. Last night at the party we had a lot of fun, singing at the top of our voices all together, hugging each other, making souvenir videos. This morning, before leaving, we went to school. The Music teacher Antonio prepared a video with photos of all the activities we have done together since we met. While watching it, I was very moved; once we were outside in the school courtyard, we burst into tears. We all hugged each other. I cried a lot when we had to get on the bus and I didn't want to leave any of them, especially my friend Aurora, who has hosted me in her family this week, making me feel fully part of it. I also cried a lot on the bus because I was sad not to see again people with whom I had established a strong bond. I was comforted by the thought that we would be able to see each other again, planning a future trip with our families. 

It was a unique experience that I would do again a thousand times.

Dal 17 al 22 marzo ci siamo recati in Spagna per svolgere la seconda parte del nostro progetto Erasmus, esattamente siamo andati in Andalusia, nel sud della Spagna. 

Il primo giorno abbiamo visitato la bellissima città di Siviglia che ci ha affascinato con il suo Alkazar in stile moresco, la piazza di Spagna con le maioliche colorate che rappresentano tutte le province della Spagna, le chiese in stile barocco con le suggestive macchine della processione della settimana santa e l'inebriante profumo di fiori d'arancio che pervade tutta la città.

From the 17th to the 22nd of March we went to Spain to carry out the second part of our Erasmus project, exactly we went to Andalusia, in the south of Spain. On the first day we visited the beautiful city of Seville that fascinated us with its Alkazar in Moorish style, the Plaza de España with the colorful majolica representing all the provinces of Spain, the baroque churches with the evocative machines of the Holy Week procession and the intoxicating profume of orange trees flowers invading the city.

Lunedì pomeriggio siamo andati a Sanlùcar, sulla foce del fiume Guadalquivir e finalmente abbiamo incontrato i nostri compagni spagnoli e le loro famiglie.  Qui siamo entrati nel vivo delle abitudini quotidiane della Spagna. La sensazione è che i tempi siano meno concitati che in Italia, la scuola comincia alle 8,30 e finisce alle 15,00, di conseguenza si pranza dopo e anche la cena non avviene prima delle 21,00/21,30. 

Durante la settimana abbiamo conosciuto la storia e l'ambiente naturalistico di questi posti, abbiamo visitato il parco naturale della Donana, dove, fino agli anni 70, viveva una comunità di taglialegna, il castello di Sanlùcar che domina la città, abbiamo visitato la città di Cadice ed una bellissima spiaggia oceanica playa de Roche.

On Monday afternoon we went to Sanlúcar, at the mouth of the Guadalquivir River, and finally met our Spanish mates and their families.  Here we got to the heart of Spain's daily routines. The feeling is that the times are less hectic than in Italy, school starts at 8.30 and ends at 15.00, consequently we have lunch afterwards and even dinner does not take place before 21.00/21.30. 

During the week we got to know the history and the natural environment of these places, we visited the natural park of Donana, where, until the 70s, lived a community of woodcutters, the castle of Sanlùcar overlooking the city, we visited the city of Cadiz and a beautiful ocean beach playa de Roche.

A scuola abbiamo svolto delle attività rilassanti e divertenti, abbiamo seguito una lezione di yoga ed una di musica facendo dei giochi divertenti. Il divertimento non è mancato soprattutto quando siamo andati al parco avventura Entre Ramas dove abbiamo affrontato anche i percorsi più difficili superando le nostre paure e i nostri limiti.

At school we did some relaxing and fun activities, we followed a yoga class and a music class playing fun games. There was no shortage of fun, especially when we went to the Entre Ramas adventure park, where we tackled even the most difficult routes, overcoming our fears and limits.

CURIOSITA'

1- Lo sapevate che proprio da Sanlùcar de Barrameda nel 1519 Magellano partì per fare il primo giro del mondo? Nel museo della città abbiamo visto la riproduzione della sua nave.

2-Il Calima è un vento che viene dall'Africa, molto forte, che porta con se particelle di sabbia, cenere , argilla e se piove, tutto si tinge di rosso, proprio come succede da noi con lo Scirocco.

3- Anche a Sanlùcar, lungo i marciapiedi ci sono aranci fioriti che rilasciano un delizioso profumo nell'aria.

4- In Spagna c'è un forte senso religioso, nelle città si stanno preparando delle transenne che delimitano il percorso delle processioni della settimana santa dove la gente, pagando, può sedersi. I proprietari delle case del centro affittano i loro balconi per guardare le processioni dall'alto, incredibile!!!

INTERESTING FACTS

1- Did you know that in 1519 Magellan left Sanlùcar de Barrameda to make the first trip around the world? In the city's museum we saw a replica of his ship.

2-The Calima is a wind that comes from Africa, very strong, which brings with it particles of sand, ash, clay and if it rains, everything is tinged with red, just like Scirocco wind in Italy.

3- Also in Sanlùcar, along the sidewalks there are orange trees in bloom that release a delicious scent into the air.

4- In Spain there is a strong religious sense, in the cities barriers are being prepared that delimit the route of the Holy Week processions where people, by paying, can sit. The owners of the houses in the center rent their balconies to watch the processions from above, incredible!!

Questa per noi è stato uno scambio fantastico, abbiamo conosciuto tanta gente nuova e diversa, per comunicare abbiamo esercitato la lingua spagnola e un po', quella inglese. Abbiamo anche incontrato delle difficoltà, di salute stando lontano da casa per alcuni, oppure  di relazione con i compagni spagnoli per altri, nonostante ciò, tutti noi rifaremmo questa esperienza perché ci ha fatto sentire grandi e probabilmente siamo diventati più grandi veramente.

This was a fantastic exchange for us, we met a lot of new and different people, to communicate we practiced the Spanish language and a little, the English language. We have also encountered difficulties, health being away from home for some, or relationship with Spanish mates for others, despite this, all of us would do this experience again because it made us feel great and probably we have become truly more adult.
