Workplace Learning Connections Summer Internships

The summer 2024 internship portal will be open from Dec. 18 2023, through Feb. 9, 2024, for current high school sophomores and juniors. Students who participate in the internship program earn dual credit through Kirkwood Community College and their local high school.

University of Iowa Secondary Student Training

Secondary Student Training Program: Precollege Program for students grades 10-11, multi-week summer program where high school students conduct original research under guidance of a faculty mentor, earn 3 s.h. of university credit. Program runs June-July, application has 2 rounds. Deadlines in December and February.

Career Explorations Workshop

This workshop, developed for high school students, provides a unique experience to investigate issues surrounding design and learn more about the design professions of architecture, landscape architecture and interior design. Summer STEM Institute--Virtually

The Summer STEM Institute (SSI) is a six-week virtual summer program for high school students. The program was started last summer by educators, students, and graduates from Stanford, Harvard, and MIT. Last year, SSI received over 2,450 applications from students in 78 different countries.
