Mental Health Minute:
Look in your inbox for this new monthly resource. It provides ideas for strengthening student, family, and staff well-being. Here is last month’s Mental Health minute about how to secure the benefits of better sleep.
AP Testing
AP Testing will occur between Monday May 6th and Thursday May 16th. Below lists the AP schedule. Here is a link to important information for AP students and their family to review.
Teen CERT
19 students, pictured here, completed the final training activities to earn their Teen CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) certification. Mrs. Zoulek facilitated opportunities throughout the year that these students voluntarily completed in order to serve their community and be prepared in case of emergency. Congratulations and thank you to these leaders!
Field Trip: Financial Literacy
On April 22nd 8th graders participated in the Financial Literacy Fair at the Kirkwood Regional Center. Students selected a career, explored costs of needs and wants choices, made a budget, and received financial aid counseling to learn about the impact of their choices. ICAP
8th-11th grade students completed assignments that helped them learn about careers of interest and documented their 4-year plans for college and career readiness.
Post-Secondary Opportunities:
The FAFSA is open for the 24-25 school year. Step-by-Step Virtual Completion Assistance is still available for free through ICAN and can be scheduled here on the ICAN website.

May 2-8: Final Exams
May 9-10: Students return spring alternative concurrent textbooks
For rising 11th and 12th grade students: Kirkwood Academy course registration is still open for certain academies. Students are accepted on a first come first serve basis. Kirkwood is hoping to increase numbers for the Early Childhood and Digital Arts, Social Media, and Visual Design Academies to avoid canceling them. Read about them in the Kirkwood Academy Plan of Study, then complete the Kirkwood Registration steps.
