Governors

Board members are committed to ensuring the best possible education for the school’s students. They undertake their roles on a voluntary basis to share their knowledge, skills and experience for the good of the school as a whole.

The Board comprises between 2 and 18 Governors and the Head of School (in ex-officio capacity).

The composition is intended to ensure that there are sufficient levels of knowledge, experience and stability within the Board. A Board member does not need to be a member of the Association.

A chairperson is elected by the Governors.

Board Election Procedures

All parents become members of the Association when joining the school community. Any parent who is not an employee of the school can stand as a candidate to join the Board. No Board member can work within the school.

Candidates should provide a simple statement giving brief details of their relevant experience and what they intend to contribute to the Board of Governors if elected. This statement is to be circulated to all those eligible to vote in that category before the proposed election day, usually held at the Annual General Meeting. Each candidate must be proposed by an Association member prior to voting.
