In this section we'll tell you more about our students' mobilities and students visiting from abroad.
Rivarolo and Bosconero - September-October 2025
Returning the warm welcome: guests from Siuntio
From September 29 to October 3, 2025, our “Guido Gozzano” Comprehensive School had the pleasure of hosting 20 students and 4 teachers from Sjundeå svenska skola in Siuntio, Finland, warmly welcomed by the families of our students.
The Finnish guests were divided between our Rivarolo (14 students) and Bosconero (6 students) schools, taking part in educational and cultural activities together with their Italian peers.
Monday, September 29 - Welcome and first activities
The week opened with a warm welcome ceremony featuring greetings, music, and moments of sharing in the Orchestra Hall of Rivarolo,. The day continued with Italian, English, and music workshops, encouraging linguistic and creative exchange between Italian and Finnish students.
Meanwhile, in Bosconero, the Finnish students were greeted by second-year pupils who presented them with personalized badges and the week’s program. Then, the group enjoyed coding sessions, bilingual limerick writing, and sports activities in the gym.
Tuesday, September 30 - A trip to Ceresole
The group, made up of 41 participants, spent a wonderful day surrounded by nature in the Gran Paradiso National Park.
Amid breathtaking landscapes and hiking trails, students and teachers shared moments of teamwork, discovery, and friendship.

Thursday, October 2 - Discovering Turin
The Erasmus group travelled to Turin by train for a cultural day trip exploring museums, squares, and monuments.
It was a meaningful opportunity to discover together the artistic and historical heritage of the city, accompanied by Italian and Finnish teachers.
Friday, October 3 - Final activities and farewell
The final day focused on closing activities at both campuses.
At Rivarolo, language and coding workshops wrapped up the week in a spirit of digital creativity.
At Bosconero, students explored the local town and its churches, took part in science experiments, and enjoyed language exchanges in Swedish and German.
An experience to remember
Reciprocating the hospitality of our Finnish partners was a deeply meaningful moment, especially for the students, who, through every exchange, better understand the true value of the Erasmus+ experience.
As they said their goodbyes, they promised to meet again: beyond the borders of the project itself.
Sjundeå/Siuntio, Finland, 20–23 May 2025
Back to Sjundeå: students from IC Guido Gozzano experience Finland first-hand
After our teachers' inspiring job-shadowing experience last March at Sjundeå Svenska Skola, it was finally time for our students to take part in this growing Erasmus+ exchange. From 20 to 23 May 2025, a group of students from Rivarolo and Bosconero had the chance to live and learn side by side with their Finnish peers in the small bilingual town of Siuntio/Sjundeå, just west of Helsinki.
Despite a delay and strike that reshuffled our flight plans, we finally landed in Helsinki late at night—greeted with warmth by the Finnish families who would host us for the week. From that very first meeting, it was clear this experience would be about more than school: it was about connection.
Wednesday, 21 May – First steps in school and on the track
Our first school day started with a romp in the yard for our students, who fit right in beside their Finnish peers. After an invigorating interlude of phisical activity, the school day began with an English-language presentation, where Italian and Finnish students shared their lives, families, schools, hobbies, and dreams. It was a moment of laughter and surprise as we discovered how much we had in common—like Sara and her six horses, or Mathilda and her farm life.
Next, we met Viljami, the PE teacher, for a lesson full of movement and fun—no better way to break the ice than playing together.
But one of the week’s highlights was just ahead: the final training session for the Stafettkarnevalen, a famous relay race held at the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki, where all the Swedish-speaking schools of the region gather to compete. We joined in to cheer for our new friends as the school mascot and cheerleaders rehearsed, showing us how strong school spirit can be.
Thursday, 22 May – Music, memories, and a forest picnic
Our second full day started with a concert of Finnish folk songs, performed for both the Swedish and Italian students. Music, once again, proved to be a powerful language—one that doesn’t require translation to be felt and enjoyed.
Later in the morning, we joined teacher Ika, who had prepared a special class about Rivarolo and Bosconero—turning our hometowns into the focus of a cross-cultural geography lesson. Afterwards, we had the opportunity to carry on some practical activities in the school laboratories.
After lunch, we headed out for a walk in the forest, one of the most cherished traditions in Finnish schools. Surrounded by pine trees and open sky, we shared sweets brought from home and enjoyed the moment of quiet togetherness, far from any screen or classroom wall.
More than a visit: a bridge between cultures
This trip was more than a school exchange. It was a chance to see how another education system works, how a different country lives, and how friendship can grow even without perfect grammar or a shared native language.
We’d like to thank Sjundeå Svenska Skola, the host families, and all the students and teachers - as well as to the local newspaper for the article it published about our visit - who welcomed us with such generosity and made us feel like part of the community. We can’t wait to welcome them back to Italy.
Erasmus+ truly continues to take us beyond borders—and every time, we come home with something new.
Roquetas de Mar, 5–9 May 2025
A week of friendship, language, and discovery in southern Spain
From 5 to 9 May 2025, a group of primary and lower secondary students from IC Guido Gozzano took part in an Erasmus+ mobility experience in Roquetas de Mar, Andalusia, hosted by our partner school CEIP Posidonia. It was a meaningful and exciting week that followed previous exchanges—first, the visit of the Spanish teachers to Rivarolo, and then our own visit to their school in March.
It was a full and vibrant week, both for the Spanish students and for the Italian families who hosted them. Each day brought new opportunities to learn, share, and discover each other's languages, routines, and perspectives.
Monday, 5 May – A warm welcome
After a full travel day via Milan Linate and Madrid, our students landed in Almería, where they were met by their Spanish peers and host families with signs, smiles, and excitement. The afternoon continued with an informal beach gathering—games, laughter, and the beginning of many new friendships.
Tuesday, 6 May – Discovering CEIP Posidonia
The morning began with a visit to CEIP Posidonia, a modern, welcoming school that’s deeply committed to Erasmus+ projects. Our students joined in class activities and enjoyed a shared lunch with their Spanish friends.
In the afternoon, they visited Happy Jump, a play park full of energy and fun. The day ended, once again, at the beach—because in Andalusia, the sea is always part of life.
Wednesday, 7 May – An adventure in nature
Midweek, we set off for a day trip to a local adventure park, where students tackled climbing paths and zip lines, encouraging each other as they completed the various challenges. It was hands-on learning in its most engaging form. The evening brought another gathering by the sea and a mid-afternoon snack provided by the host families.
Thursday, 8 May – Sport, sunshine, and pizza
The morning was dedicated to sports on the beach, with team games and movement activities organised by the Spanish teachers. Later, some souvenir shopping and a festive evening brought everyone together—students, families, and teachers—for a pizza night full of music, conversation, and shared joy.
Friday, 9 May – Not goodbye, but see you soon
The final day arrived far too quickly. After a heartfelt farewell at school, the group headed back to the airport. The goodbyes in Almería were filled with emotion—proof that in just a few days, strong connections had formed.
What do we take home?
This mobility gave our students the chance not only to practice English but also to challenge themselves in a new setting, becoming more independent, open-minded, and self-aware. They learned to communicate beyond language barriers, to appreciate cultural differences, and above all, to experience the power of friendship through shared experience.
Our thanks go to the Italian and Spanish families, to the teachers, and especially to CEIP Posidonia for their hospitality and dedication. Here's their blog article about our week together.
Our Erasmus+ journey continues—always “beyond borders”!
Rivarolo Canavese, 31st March – 5th April 2025
From Roquetas to Rivarolo: a week of exchange and shared experiences
On Monday, 31 March, ten students from CEIP Posidonia in Roquetas de Mar arrived at IC Guido Gozzano for a week-long Erasmus+ exchange. After the earlier visits—first by their teachers in February, and then by our teachers to Spain in March—this marked a new step in a collaboration that’s growing stronger with every encounter.
It was a full week, both for the Spanish students and for the families who hosted them. Each day offered something different: school activities, shared learning, and the chance to get to know one another’s routines, habits, and perspectives.
Tuesday, 1st April – Coding, Creativity, and Language
In Rivarolo, the week began with a Scratch coding session, where Italian and Spanish students worked in pairs to design interactive stories. It was an opportunity to explore computational thinking, creativity, and teamwork in a new context.
Meanwhile in Bosconero, students joined an Art and Civics class focused on cyberbullying and digital responsibility, with activities connected to the national Patentino dello smartphone programme. Later, during an English lesson, they created a trilingual glossary (Italian, English, and Spanish) and played a themed board game to reinforce vocabulary and speaking skill.
Wednesday, 2nd April – Discovering Ceresole Reale
Midweek, we headed to Ceresole Reale, for a day outside the classroom. The mountain landscape of the Gran Paradiso National Park gave everyone a chance to slow down, explore nature, and share the experience of seeing something new together.
Thursday, 3rd April – Music and sport across borders
Back at school in Rivarolo, we gathered for a performance by our music students. The pieces, some recently performed at a national competition, gave our guests a glimpse into one of the many talents that shape daily life in our school. In the afternoon the students took part in games held in the school yard.
Friday, 4th April – Robotics and a bit of friendly competition
On the final day in Bosconero, students took part in a Technology lesson using mBlock and Scratch to program small robot cars. At the end of the lesson they tested their coding skills—and their cars—in a light-hearted race that closed the week on a high note.
It was a busy, lively week that gave space for both structured learning and spontaneous connection. From shared lessons to after-school conversations, this exchange helped students practice language, apply what they’ve learned, and most importantly, see the value of learning together across cultures. We’re proud of the enthusiasm and openness shown by everyone involved—and excited for what comes next: our students' visit to Roquetas de Mar.
Rivarolo, 30th January 2025 -
A preview
Our students will soon embark on the mobility experiences we have planned for them. The first group, consisting of five primary and five secondary school students, will spend five days immersed in school life and activities in Roquetas de Mar, Spain, from May 5 to 9, 2025.
The second group, made up of four girls and four boys from the secondary school, will travel to Sjundeå from May 19 to 24, 2025. Among other activities, they will take part in a running event in Helsinki.
Finally, we will have the chance to return the hospitality we received: from March 31 to April 5, we will welcome ten students from the Spanish school, and in autumn 2025, as many as twenty-six Finnish students will join us to conclude our first Erasmus experience.
We hope that the opportunity to visit another country and, above all, to host students from different cultures will give our school a chance to see the world through new eyes.
