5x5 How to Edit

Create a new Event in Final Cut Pro

Give the Event a Name

Next Create a New Project for each of the 5x5's you will be making

Give it a Name

Drag All your Clips for the first 5x5 into the Media Window

Bring your first clip into the timeline, Click OK

We want each clip to be 5 Seconds long. To change the Duration of the clip, do one of two things:

1 - Modify - Change Duration

2 (Keyboard shortcut) - control-D

This will show the Actual length of the clip - In this case it is 35 seconds

Change the Duration to 5 Seconds

Next use the Trim tool to move the video within the 5 second space to choose which portion of your video you want to play

With the Trim tool selected, grab the video and move it...The Video on the Left side will show the beginning of the 5 second clip, move it until you're happy with the starting point.

Repeat these steps for the next 4 clips and click back to your Select Tool

Add your titles (Opening Title & End Credits) - Again, each of these should be 5 seconds. The total video time should be 35 Seconds!

Repeat these steps for your next three 5x5 Videos
