A deconstructed landscape can be any place. What you are trying to accomplish is to find the things in that place that make it unique. For this assignment we will be using nine images to show those things that make a place unique. See Examples below:
You will be creating four of these landscapes:
1 indoor City High
1 outdoor City High
1 indoor away from City
1 outdoor away from City
After taking the photos of your location, Open your first image
Click on the lock to Unlock your layer
We are going to make the canvas able to fit all 9 of our images:
Image - Canvas Size...
First change "Inches" to "Pixels"
Then Triple the width and height (do not use the same numbers I did, this all depends on the camera you used and the original size of your photos).
Your image should look like the below image in the bottom right corner
To make things easier, we are going to turn on the rulers and the snap
Create Grid Lines by Dragging down from the top ruler above and below your first image. Drag across from the left ruler to make grid lines on the right and left of you first image.
Bring in the rest of you photos by dragging them to your canvas. You should have 9 layers.
Use your Move tool and drag the layers around into the arrangement that you like. They should move and snap pretty easily with the grid lines there.
Once all images are in place, create a new layer and bring it above all your other layers. This is going to have grid lines to separate the images
We are going to create a border and grid lines between each of the images.
Go to Select - All
Once everything is selected we are going to "Stroke" the image. This will put a line around the entire image.
Make sure that your stroke is going on the Inside of the selection and select the color you want.
The Width again is up to you. I used a .25 inch width, you can change yours to larger or smaller depending on how wide or thin you want your border.
Once the stroke is done, Deselect.
To create the grid lines between the photos, switch to the paintbrush tool. Use a "hard round" brush and find a size you like for the grids. Start by single clicking on one of your grid lines on the top, away from the picture. Then hold the shift key and click on the bottom of the same grid line, away from the picture. this will create a straight line between the two points. Continue doing this on all 4 of your grid lines.
Clear your guides to see your finished image. At this point you can still move pictures around to change their locations.
