A new year means new smartphones. 2020 has had many phones released. Some have failed, and some have prevailed. Some of them haven’t even come out yet. Here are some of the big smartphones for 2020:
Apple iPhone 12 Series
Apple has released its newest lineup of phones. The iPhone 12 series consists of the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and the iPhone 12 Pro Max. These are Apple’s first 5G smartphones. The iPhone 12 series phones are capable of faster charging than their predecessors, and their design is slightly different as well, with flat edges instead of the usual curved edges. The phones are priced as such: the iPhone 12 Mini at $699, the iPhone 12 at $799, the iPhone 12 Pro at $999, and theiPhone 12 Pro Max at $1,099.
Google Pixel 5 and 4A 5G
The Google Pixel 5 and Google Pixel 4A 5G are Google’s newest smartphones. The Pixel 5 is Google’s flagship phone for 2020, while the Pixel 4A 5G is Google’s cheaper, mid-range phone. The Pixel 5 contains more features than the Pixel 4A 5G, but both phones do include 5G. The Pixel 5 has a price tag of $699, while the 4A 5G has one of $499.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2
Samsung is bringing in its newest foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Fold 2. This smartphone is the successor to the Samsung Galaxy Fold, Samsung’s first foldable phone. The Z Fold 2 improves on the original Fold, and critics have said that is a better model. Some of the improvements of the Z Fold 2 are a sturdier hinge, and the lack of a gap between the body of the phone and the screen. Despite the phone being an improvement, it still has some inconveniences, such as a crease on the screen where it folds, and the fact that the phone is big and heavy. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 costs $1,999. It is one of Samsung’s more expensive phones.
LG Wing
LG is introducing a very unique smartphone model this year. The LG Wing is LG’s newest smartphone, and it includes two screens. The screens are both on top of each other, but one of the screens can swivel so that the phone resembles a ‘T’. When that screen is swiveled out, the other screen can be accessed. With these two screens, the LG Wing allows for multitasking, as each screen can have a different app open. The LG Wing costs $999. Not the cheapest phone, but not the most expensive either this year.
